  • With National Signing being this Wednesday has anyone heard if we?re going to be signing any more recruits or were we pretty much done during the early signing period?

You can sign 25 players.  We currently have 22 verbal commitments.  21 of which have already signed.  DE Elijiah Russell is the only current unsigned verbal.  Assuming Russell signs on Wednesday that leaves us with 3 more spots.  Hopefully Huff has some bigger recruits he's been holding back.

Keep in mind the initial 25 does not count transfers.  Transfers and NQs do not count toward the initial 25 or the recruiting class ranking.

Thanks for the good information. Hopefully everything works out as they have planned.

This guy committed and signed today.  Based on these offers, that's a really good last minute addition to the class.

I'm always skeptical of these recruiting sites that list offers such as Alabama and Auburn, but they choose a CUSA/Sun Belt school.

  • Several signed today. Good pick ups by Huff. The kicker will sign, he is a big time pick up. We definitely filled some needs. If some of these kids pan out and play well next fall, we can have a darn good season. The OL and WR groups still make me a bit uneasy.

  • I am wondering if the likes of Alabama, et. al. might start "planting" people like this kid at a place like Marshall with the idea they get more of a chance to see the field and grow, then come back and snatch them up later. via the portal  If not actively planting, then telling them they will keep an eye on them for the future.

Can't imagine that scenario hasn't been discussed.

  • I mentioned this awhile back.  Huff hadn?t even started the NQ signings until today.  Too easy for him.

Under the present system I could see NQs as a major problem for mid majors. What if we spend a year getting them eligible then they opt out to play for a P5 school the following year. Is that allowable?

There are a few more not in this list. The kicker and a few more PWOs ( at least 2 300+ lb OL)
