  • I just saw that former Herd hoopster Cam Brooks-Harris is now at Georgetown College in Kentucky.
He came with the team at the beginning of the 2nd semester.
In 7 games he is averaging 11 ppg and 5 rpg.
He is shooting at a .509 clip while shooting .345 from behind the arc.
We all knew he could play but he sure had a lot of growing up to do.
Today, I consider myself, the luckiest man on the face of the earth..

Surely he's one of the better athletes at that level.

He had some raw talent for sure but could never get it together here.

  • but but but.....guys who play at Marshall would dominate that level  ;D ::)

I'm not surprised. He was below average here and is barely average there. That's a good NAIA conference.

No I didn't....but that doesn't surprise me one bit. I've been trying to tell people how good that conference is in basketball.

  • Wasn?t the staff recruiting CBH when they found Taevion? They were on the same high school or travel team?

  • Any possibility that we could "steer" a few more similarly talented guys on our current squad to, like James Brown in the "Blues Brothers", 'SEE THE LIGHT', and soon head on down Georgetown's way?  ;D ;D

Lol I can't believe you still don't think Marshall would roll D2 schools. The mighty west liberty that struggles to beat WV state, and you think they'd beat us lol

Yes. They knew about CBH and was recruiting him and then saw TK on the same AAU team. They then went after both. TK was not much interested until he saw the NCAA tournament success. CBH stayed on him hard. Once TK came to campus with his parents for a visit he was hooked. He and his parents loved the school of journalism with some help from Steve Cotton thrown in.

I agree that Marshall would, and should, beat most D-2 teams on most nights. With that said, I?ve watched WV State play twice this year and Anthony Pittman from WV State would be a starter for Marshall right now and be arguably the best player on the team.

Different level. Sure individuals can start and play here, from lower levels that were missed, but i highly doubt he'd be the best player over kinsey and obinna. But overall as a group, we'd beat state by 20-30 even in the slump, from pure athleticism, depth and size. Same reason most P5s can beat G5s regularly, the size, strength, speed, and usually talent to a lesser degree, decreases as you go down the ladder.

I can't believe you think Marshall would roll West Liberty, Fairmont, or WV State....let alone teams who play in the D2 Final Four.

WV State is the hottest D2 team in the country right now and yes Pittman would be the best player on our team. No one on Marshall's team could lock him down.

LMAO..... Obinna and Kinsey are the only two who have "superior size and athleticism".

You're hilarious. There is a big difference in P5 and G5, a big difference in FBS and FCS and a grand canyon between D1 and D2

Yeah. So huge that once again Stevie Browning came here and balled out. Another kid from Fairmont now starts for Baylor?. And you haven?t watched a single D2 game.

This isn?t about how good D2 is as much as this is how bad DD has done at overall recruiting.

A lot of the guys from Marshall played pretty frequently this summer in Charleston and Teays Valley in pick up game leagues. My son was one of them that played. I?m really confident that Anthony Pittman earned the respect of all of the Marshall guys during those games. He was one of, if not the best player on the court every time he took the court. It would be pretty easy to verify this by simply asking Taevion, Andy, Mikel, Obinna, David and all the others that played. Anthony Pittman is for real but WV State would likely lose to Marshall 9-10 times due to depth not talent.

  • Pittman is very athletic and shoots better now apparently.  He would help us for sure.  However, I may be wrong and Meister can correct me, but I think DD had eyes on Pittman but it never materialized for some reason.  Not sure if an official offer was made but DD was interested at least.

  • I know for certain that Pittman chose football out of high school over basketball. He went the JUCO route out of high school due in pet to grades and test scores. He?s a good kid and heck of a talent.

24 needs to check out a couple of top tier D2 games for himself.

  • Guys, we all know that all Danny D. has to do is just roll the ball out on the floor and then at the final buzzer we'll walk away with another "EASY" victory.  Just like we did against Newberry a few seasons back, against Campbell this season, etc., etc.
