  • . . . tips at 8 pm Eastern time.  For some that may not know, this game will be telecast nationally on CBSsports.

Teams look evenly matched.  ODU is something like 8-12 and MU is 8-13.  All time series is also even at 9-9.  Good opportunity, I believe, for the HERD to extend its winning "streak"!!

Former MU basketball player, the late Sonny Allen, coached for 10 years at ODU, leading them to the National D2 Championship in 1974.  Allen finished his collegiate coaching career at SMU.

In a classy move, ODU is honoring Allen's career there with a halftime presentation.  Nice that it is being done while MU is in town.  Hopefully CBSsports will give it a little airtime during their telecast on Thursday.

And these are the two teams many on here were predicting would walk into the Sun Belt and dominate.

Sure! Any of you wags interested in buying my ocean front property in Pendleton county?

Well, if you've been watching SBC basketball at all, that still might be the case.  That basketball league isn't very good; candidly, if anyone argues it isn't a step down, they're not watching the league's games.

  • Might be a step down between the conferences, but for us it's hard to step down from the basement.  The best Sunbelt teams are certainly better than the worst CUSA teams.  And their rankings have shown that over the last 8 years alternating top conference positions with CUSA.  This is due to the dead weight at the bottom of CUSA, which we are now a part of.   The bulk of our team consists of freshmen and sophomores.  We are stuck in this lineup for years to come with no confidence they will get better and a list of failed projects to back that up.
