  • Byron is positioning himself to get whatever job he wants . It takes some balls to take your name out of consideration for your what could be your first head coaching job.

He's being smart. He will get a HC job and often you only get one crack at it in the NFL. If Jax wasn't meeting some demands he had to feel comfortable in the position then back away and find a team that will.

On Jax's end I can also understand not bending to the demands of an unproven coach. I think Doug Pederson would be a good hire there.

  • I understand both sides.  BL felt he couldn?t work well with the current GM but also he over played his cards as he is not proven or in a position to tell a successful billionaire who he has to hire.

BL didn?t have the leverage in this negotiation.  He is not Belecheck, Tomlin or McVey.

Lol you get far more than one crack at it. Head coaches in the NFL are passed around like a joint at cheech and chongs.

That's true, you're right. The constant retreads, especially losers, is interesting to see.

Regardless I'm sure Leftwich isn't thinking, whatever... if I mess this up I'll get hired again somewhere.

Yeah, but smart move. He isn't so eager to just get the title that he put himself in a guillotine that is Jacksonville

  • Why take the heat for a GM that is a proven failure?

Unless you are a Black coach. Sad and true. Record speaks for itself.
