You know we are just beyond the quarter pole in the regular season and I am very happy with the way things have gone. Shortly after losing to Providence in the NCAAs I thought this might be a semi-rebuilding year considering what we were losing. Two backs (Dossantos/Leinhos), a midfielder (Max), and two of our best forward/MF players the program has ever seen (Dolabella/Diaz) all went to play pro soccer after helping MU soccer to 3 NCAA tourneys including a sweet 16 appearance and a National Championship. I still thought we'd be a NCAA tourney caliber team by end of season, but never thought we win the spring league and be a top 10 team this quickly.
Like all teams, we are a work in progress but pleasantly surprised how Grassie has brought in guys who have never played together and got them to this point this quickly. Of course, the holdovers deserve a ton of credit as well. The next 4 games will really give us a good idea about whether we'll be in hunt for SB title. I'm looking forward to going down to Lexington for the UK game next week and the WVU game at home the following week. BTW, seats for the WVU match are now completely sold out. Herdzone says still some SRO tix available for $10
