  • 1. Huff is not a good coach. 7-8 vs FBS, including a season of cusa east super weak competition.

    2. Trickett is not a good OC

    3. Our Oline sucks

    4. Laborn deserves better.

    5. Our defense is solid. But it's not enough when you have a middle school offense. Our defense gave up 9 points and we lost. Let that sunk in.

    6. Bold prediction, we DO NOT make a bowl in 22. There is not 4 more FBS wins on our schedule.

    7. Do we need to talk coaching change now? Or waste two more years before we do?

    All I have tonight folks.

  • We have some major issues. Coach Huff probably thought he had punched his ticket out of town after that ND win. He still may get out of Huntington, but if this keeps up it won't be by his choice.

A long time ago, I heard an OL coach say if you don't know who to block find the first opposite colored jersey and hit the piss out of them. We don't do either.

  • I will give these guys the next two games at home to get this thing corrected, but these last two games were brutal. If we can win the next two, then we sit at 4-2.

The offensive line looks completely broke, and it looks like the other offensive players (other than Laborn) play like they knew this as well. Troy's secondary outworked and outplayed our receivers.

If we had an average Marshall offense from the past 20 years, then we win this game tonight by 17-20 points with the way the defense played.

Colombi (a veteran player) not throwing the ball downfield on that 4th down play is concerning.

  • I'd say he is actually in a bit over his head in choosing other coaches and evaluating talent to assist him.  This was truly as bad as it could get.

Yet I also know we are trying to play with a patch-work team, so many new players and some not so good. I could name them but it seems doing so gets one crucified.  Let's just say many of them many of them transferred in from other places they couldn't play, or from lower level competition and are showing why they weren't recruited to this level.

We are talent weak, coaching soft, and support-challenged right now.  Spears will certainly earn his money to make this a competitive SBC athletic department.

  • Our defense won most of the plays tonight, but gave up 4 plays > 50 yards. Mostly on play-action. The dive for the sideline pass instead of making the tackle probably doomed us in the end.

Still, our offense was -7 on the night and our D basically gave us a TD and only surrendered 3 FG's and came up with 3 TO's.

Tells me we can beat G-W and Louisiana with Ali as a one-two punch. Prolly win some games at home late in the season to get our hopes up but can't win out with this OL and QB pair.

  • Now I believe Huff when he said Fancher was pushing Columbi in camp. Just not in a good way.   When was the last time we had less than 100 yards passing in a game?

Yes I believe it was 56 yards for the game with no first downs in the first half of that game. So if you think tonight was bad just chew on that Doc Holliday game.

A loss is a loss but yes Boise was even worse. I get tired of hearing Doc brought up when he owns the worst losses ever at the Joan. Got shut out at home and that debacle at Boise. Luckily he got out when he did or the SB would have really put a hurting on him. Those Fiu, Charlotte start up games couldn?t pass his record.

Don't look like Sir Charles will be leaving for Arizona -- or elsewhere -- anytime soon.  Still haven't decided whether that will be good or bad...

We are sooooooooooo predictable:  Either No. 8 is going to run the ball or the Q-back is going to scramble around looking at covered receivers.

Anyone think the attendance will break 14,000 next week?

  • "What we know . . . " is that Marshall has NOT LEARNED to stop HIRING overrated, over-the-hill Coaches with a WVU background/connection, Legg, Doc, Trickett, etc., if it expects to develop and MAINTAIN a high quality, highly respected, and consistently very successful football program!!

Did Doc sleep with your wife?  He has been gone 2 years.  He had nothing to do with the last 2 losses.  As I have said.  Huff is a talker but not a good coach.  There is zero evidence he is a good coach.
