  • I seen Cole and Chad before the Georgia St. game, Cole?s hand was in a soft cast.

  • Gee wiz.  I don't know if Cole will run the team or not next year, but I don't know how anyone could know he was Scout team player of year and wonder why not #2 ahead of Cunningham.

Sure, scout team POY is a great sign about his abilities and preparation.  He runs the opposing offense each week, right?

While that Scout team success is good, it means he has much less experience in our offense compared to top 3-4 QBs.  Simply he wasn't going to be in the game plan or two deep yesterday no matter what, healthy or not.

This should surprise no one whether you think he will pan out or not.

Does anyone know anything about him?

Even the pro Fancher guys should welcome this because Fancher needs a little pressure.  Fancher is also getting about 3-4 times more opportunities to do something with the football, because of our defense.  He's not always going to get an extra chance with the ball, then an extra extra chance and finally an extra extra extra chance to score

Probably just protecting that golden throwing hand for the future.

No joke, reported in the news that he tweeted it; my son told me Sunday, so I looked it up. Maybe he doesn't think he sucks but can't win with the other talent at MSU. I could see that.

Unreal. Look at the stats and tell me you want any of those QBs. Hopefully it?s a walk-on or maybe switching positions here?

Well for those too young to remember, Phil Simms attended Morehead State and is in the Kentucky Hall of Fame..

  • The dude only threw 40 some passes. No way to know for sure if he's good or bad, if he's depth of starter potential in Huff's plan. His film looks decent.

Cole Pennington was named ( Scout Team Offensive POY) at Marshall's football team banquet.

  • It honestly is very upsetting that we squandered a championship defense because we didn't have anything at QB.  Even if we skip the woulda coulda shoulda about lost opportunities this year, we still don't have anything at QB for 2023.  Fancher will drop games just by his nature of not playing well under pressure, throwing 50/50 balls and picks.

12 months later and we are still hoping Pennington takes over or we a QB out of the portal.  I don't think either option will happen.   I think we are going to go with Fancher and finishing in 3rd place in the east.  Win 80% of our games and get beat by the sunbelts best QBs.

The only good thing is McCall is gone from CC. App st is losing their QB. JMU is losing their QB. ODU had an awful QB. So there isn't anything coming back in the East.

  • The sunbelt east looks to be like the cusa east next season so there is that. But that being said, we are gonna struggle next season if fancher is QB

If that?s the case then it?s a good pick up.

I hope we go get a portal QB who can be the man next year while giving Francher one more year to develop.

All due respect,  this says more about character  than athletic ability. There is zero emphasis in actually completing passes  rather than giving the defense a "look"  . The play is pre-decided where the pass is going to go. There is no thinking involved. You look at a card and run the play.

  • As someone pointed out, Cole apparently never practiced with the MU offensive unit. He spent each week trying to replicate the opponent's offense so he has little or no experience with the MU offense.

JMU got a former starter from Arizona. I am sure many schools like us, will try to re-load via the portal.

  •  Ring scout team player of the year doesn?t mean anything.  It shows he worked hard but beyond that it means absolutely nothing with regards to being the guy next year
No matter what e-man or a defensive player says. Contrary to popular believe those two people make absolutely no recommendations on who plays next year or not.
