  • I did six because Glenville States in there at five . I have us going 5-1 . The three road games arent against anyone from the ACC but they are road games . We could of course lose all three road games but I think we can get at least one of them , if not all . Toledo will probably be the hardest game and if we have a good road trip , there should be a good crowd at the butterfly .

    On the road
    Duquesne - W
    Robert Morris -  W
    UNCG -  L

    At home
    Toledo - W
    Glenville St - W
    Appy St - W

Why losing to UNCG? They dont have a winning record. I would say maybe a to Toledo or Duquesne.

  • UNCG is awful. No way we should lose that game. Duquesne worries me a little if we are ready and focused. But RM and UNCG should be wins. If we play against a toledo like we have been playing we should win that one.  I'll be disappointed if we don't go at least 5-1. The team just needs to stay intense and focused and we will be fine. If not, we will lose one or two.

  • Sort of jumping in to say the same, right now in Kenyon, Marshall is 105, Duquesne is 117, and UNCG is at 175. Granted there's a chance to go cold shooting any night -especially on the road, but I'd think it much more likely Duquesne gets us rather than UNCG.

No way Marshall should have lost to Queens, but they did. Anything can happen any night.

Yep , thats my point.  I doubt UNCG will beat us ( Dukes have the best shot ) but had to pick somebody to upset us.  I also think we can go 6-0 over the next 6 games . We can lay an egg anywhere

  • Well, going through New Year's, we have 7 games, including two conference games to open the season: Appy and JMU.  Going by how teams are currently playing, and their records, would say Duquesne and JMU may be the biggest challenges.  One is on the road, one at home.   Just can't see the HERD as we are currently playing losing to Bobby Morse and UNC-G.  Toledo is all that stands in the way of the HERD being the self-proclaimed and undefeated MAC champions for 22-23, so you know they'll be jacked to prevent that from happening!  Always the possibility of a slip up in a game or two, but it reasonable to foresee the HERD going into stead conference play after New Year's Day with a 12-2 or even 13-1 record!!

As somebody that does a lot of sports betting, learning to look at favtors other than the teams names, i was scared to death of Queens and told my wife and everybody else that was a buzz saw we scheduled for the first game of the season for nothing more than to try to please alumni in the area. Queens is not a bad team, very capable, and you couple that with super motivation like their first D1 game, at home, with Marshall playing 3 young freshman in their first game on the road, lol, it's spelled out for you that's a bad idea. And we lose by 1 with a ball hanging on the rim at the end.

It is what it is, but this team is really good and is getting better every single week.

I do know this team and staff  did NOT overlook Queens. A team that won 30 games last year with much the same lineup  knows how to win. That with the hype made them a very formidable foe. I do believe if we were to play them now, even on the road we would see a different result.

HM, I assume that Queens will make a return trip to the CAM in 23-24.  I personally have been wondering about our future OOC schedules, which I assume will continue, for a while, to feature at least a couple of MAC schools.  Now I assume that you have an opportunity to, and do, converse some with Coach D'Antoni from time to time.  I wonder if he, and MU overall, perhaps makes an effort or two to play an opponent on the road ever so often which is close to where one of our starters came from.  I was thinking, say, in the case of Handlogten, whether Danny would try to get a game, or a home and home series, with former conference foe, UNC-Charlotte?  I think we had a good rivalry with them during our CUSA days and Halton Arena is a pretty nice facility, from all accounts.  Don't know if there are any "issues" between the coaching staffs that might hinder such games/series.  Just curious and throwing it out there in case at some point in your future conversations with Coach you might inquire about it.  Thanks in advance!

I didn't say we overlooked them. We just could not match their intensity and motivation in that game, and that makes a difference
That's why it shouldn't have been scheduled game 1.

Hey just curious? Did they call Danny dazzling Danny D back in his playing days also? Lol!!! Seems you are using that one on another board. He must have had a lot of those names back in the day huh?

I misunderstood you. There was no other date that would fit the schedules except that one. We desperately want a game in Charlotte for all our fans down there. We wanted to play UNCC but that wasn't possible this year. Expect us to try and get them again in the future

Queens will be here next year. As I stated in another post we wanted to get UNCC this year but it couldn't happen. Expect is to try again in the future. Danny really wants to play them and WKU on a regular basis.

I have never heard Danny say we want to play near a guys hometown.

How about a game in the Baltimore/Washington/Richmond areas? Plenty of alums in that region as well plus plenty of teams to choose.

No matter if it's this board, or that board, or ANY board, bust, EVERYONE knows that "Darlin Dan" is strictly reserved for your lips ONLY!!!  ;) ;)

I just find it funny that you come up with these degrading Danny names and then aren't man enough to admit it. You say Dandy Dan is what they called him. Then you go on another board and call him Dazzlin Dan. Even posters over there called you out. Just wondering if Dazzlin Dan was another one of his names back then and was Heelbilly ball used back then and spelled like that? Just be a man for once and admit you have a disdain for the guy or explain the name calling?

Don't you think he is "Dazzling", bust?  Hell, your overwhelmingly sugar-coated practice reports year after year certainly indicate that!!  Do they have signs up warning fans who attend practice sessions to wear Sunglasses in order to protect their eyes when Coach is in view?  Based on your reports, I would think that would be required!  Heck, one would presume that he makes an almost "Ric Flair" like entrance to every practice session, complete  with one of those "Dazzling" and shiny Slick Rick Robes!!!

But you may have a point, bust.  Dandy Dan's overall record through 8 seasons, winning about 54% of the games played, really doesn't qualify for a "Dazzling" description.  We'll have to come up with a more appropriate adjective, ummm, "Dismal", nope, doesn't fit, . .. got any suggestions, bust??
