Well, will never convince me that the L at BG was anything but a giveaway. They didn't win it; we LOST it! Two fumbles/tos heading into the endzone for a go-ahead score (and probably the winning score on one).
Should be no worse than 9-3 heading into the Bowl Game, looking for a double digit winning record.
Going back a few months now, my impression of the BUGS game was that the team lost focus, turned the ball over 3 times, and the offensive line was a like a screen door on pass protection. Columbi passed for 338 yards and Laborn ran for 157 yards. BUGS leading rusher only could only muster 35 yards and McDonald passed for 282 yards. Marshall put up 547 total yards on offense vs. BUGS 377.
Should have, could have won that game if not for the mental mistakes and 3 untimely turnovers. The coaching staff was still using the 2 QB system at BGSU. Columbi was 23/34 for 338 yards with a 9.9 yard average with 1 yard rushing. Fancher was 3/4 for 18 yards and a 4.5 yard average with 24 rushing yards. The BGSU defense was exploiting the weakness on the Marshall OL which resulted in BGSU making 7 TFL and 4 sacks. In comparison, the vaunted Herd defense had 7 TFL and 2 sacks. This was one of the games that Columbi was running out of bounds rather than throwing the ball away which resulted in some fan criticism. Columbi ran 9 times for 1 yard, his long was 11 yards. Fancher ran twice for 24 yards his long was 17 yards. BGSU has one of the worse defenses in FBS ranked 105 in total defense and 113 pass defense. No reason for the Marshall offense to allow that much pressure on the Herd QBs.
