1. We know we can beat a good team on the road, even when se don't play our best game, at least for 2/3 of the ball game.
2. Micah - killed it on the boards 16 rebounds and 8 offensive, but missed 3 easy lay ups that could have made a big difference. Take your time big fella. Come down and go up and dunk that ball.
3. Fricks - good game, we needed someone to step up and help tonight and he did it. 12 points. Those 3 missed free throws hurt my soul though.
4. Kinsey and Taylor - not their best nights, but ended up with 19 and 18. Little bit of hero ball by both in the 2nd half. No made 3s. But 7 and 6 assists and grinded.
5. Rebounding - before they started shooting desperation, we were down 14 rebounds and Duquesne beat us by 6 on the boards (tho tv said 10) and 23 offensive boards is way too many. This and our selfish play in the 2nd half is what kept this from being a 30 point blowout
6. Assists - 12 in the first half and only 2 in the 2nd half up until late in the game. Finished with 19. Alot of standing around, and hero ball in the 2nd half.
7. Curfman - did what he needed to do. Well played game. 4-6 from 3, 14 points.
8. Obinna - very slow start but had some nice pick and rolls for much needed buckets. Ended up with 11. Need him to get double digits every game.
9. Dantoni - little long before timeouts again, that 2nd half Duquesne run was brutal. I was nervous from 16 minutes in the 2nf half til the finish. But 8-1 and a nice road win.
10. Overall, if you told me, we went soft on the boards -6 (or 10 conflicting stats), sucked from the line, and only made 5 3s at 27%, i would have thought we lost. We defied the stat sheet. Made some defensive plays, forced some turnovers, while keeping ours low, and grinded out a win inside the arc, and on defense. I will take a double digit road win over a 1 loss team every day, especially with a 17-7 foul disparity before they started intentionally fouling. Fans need to get into the cam when the team plays the next home game. 2 more roadies to win, and come home 10-1. Next two against 4-6 Robert Morris (should beat them easily) and 4-6 UNCG, about the same, though UNCG can pull an upset if we sleepwalk.
Go Herd! 8-1 and although less dominating than it looked, who here would not take a 11 point road victory over 7-1 Duquesne? Get on the wagon MUTHER
