  • Hard to believe he had such few D1 offers. He's a baller.

  • He'll get plenty this season. Hopefully he remembers that we wanted him and nobody else did and gives them the finger like Jon and Kinsey

White side was the most selfish player I?ve seen at MU.  Micah has a very team oriented playing style.  I think he?ll have a longer and more successful MU career than Whiteside.

More successful MU career probably but Whiteside has made a lot $ (104 million) playing ball

I think Micah has just as much skill. You get 20 lbs and another year on Micah and look out.

  • just finding a 7+ who can run, move, is coordinated, has decent timing and is in control/collected is a recruiting job well done.  he can be really really good.

  • He had 13 rebounds timings. That is 29 last 2 games. His offense will come as he gets stronger. He has tremendous hands for his size and is mainly focusing now on D and rebounding.

Has Whiteside ever been back to Marshall since he's been in the NBA?

  • Handlogten has impressive board, blocks and altered shots numbers.
But he's more disruptive in ways that y'all ain't talking about. He deflects a lot of passes. He causes a lot of held balls. He has a knack for stepping around his man and intercepting passes. He needs to be able to put back some of his offensive rebounds, for sure. But he is absolutely the biggest reason the other teams' offenses have been smothered over long stretches of games.
In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

True but,Whiteside spent a good 4 or 5 years bouncing around development leagues and overseas before landing in the NBA for good.  I've long felt had Whiteside spent another year or two in college he would have made it to the NBA sooner.

No. He has no intention unless we retire his number

  • He plays with an edge. He doesn't get intimated and he battles on the glass. Teams know when he is on the bench.

Poor form on him for sure.  However if that is what it takes to bring him back into the fold then you do it.  Marshall has to keep and build relationships with past athletes, especially the pro ones who have made over 100 million...
