  • THAT WOULD BE HUGE! Keeping him and adding the Coastal kid and two recent signings, we should be solid again. Still need a couple of good mids. jmho.

  • As I've said, I would not be surprised if he stays if he was not offered one of those addidas spots for underclassmen in MLS.  He is really good but could still improve a lot in certain areas (lateral movement, defense).  Plus I think he may be much better as a winger vs striker due to size etc or at least split time between striker and winger with Pascal.

The MLS is not going to tell kids they think they should come if they are not ready.  That being said I guess we'll know for sure after the draft because, as with any player, it only takes one team that will invest in your development.

Too small at striker really limits aerial O

I love him as a winger or attacking midfielder

Theo Godard must be a transfer because he played MF for Gardner Webb in 2022.  As a FR he started 12 of team's final 13 matches. Listed at 5'7, 150

Bell was not given a generation adidas contract and is not amongst the list of draft eligible players. Looks like he should be back next season. Look for Gabi to get looks late first today. Possibly round 2 for Milo and Ollie

  • Bell coming back. Maybe another one as well - depends on the MLS draft projections. If Grassie can get another good mid or two, we will be loaded and ready for another deep run in 2023. Better get your tix when they become available.

  • Regarding the topic of being #12, I think that it's rather impressive that men's soccer from a non blueblood university has remained nationally ranked for, what, 4 years?

In memory of Dr Daniel P Babb who taught so much to so many.

  • MLS listed the 360+ players eligible for the draft today.  We have 4 players eligible to be selected:

    Alves, Mocyunas, Semmle, and Sousa

    https://www.mlssoccer.com/news/mls-superdraft-2023-presented-by-adidas-eligible-player-list

The intrigue is where Alves will land.  I really like Semmle, but he will cost an MLS squad one of their international spots at the one position that the US system does have adequate depth, so that will hurt his chances and value.

Is it possible for Vinny to return?? And what about Adjetey?

I think Vinny can if he wants. Adjetey will be back - he didn't walk on Senior Day.

Unfortunately, this was Vinny's 5th (COVID bonus) year, so he is out of eligibility to return.

Adjetey is expected back for his covid bonus year in 2023.

    - UK has a bunch of players eligible

  • And that concludes the MLS Draft.  Semmle is the only Marshall player selected.  Surprised that despite being one of the 40-some players invited to the MLS College Showcase that Alves is not selected.

Thrilled for Semmle but thought Alves would get drafted

  • IIRC only Dossantos and Dias were taken in last year?s draft, but several others found roster spots. This isn?t the end of the road for Alves and company.

Wonder if Alves will consider returning for another year?
