Great article on Spears in the recent issue of Thundering Herd illustrated. Detailing his thoughts and what he has accomplished so far since taking the job in February. Good stuff. A lot going on, and still more to come. Doing great. He stepped in it regarding the Bruce Morris issue but knew he needed to put the prints on the floor - good that he listened to the fans - how refreshing.
He's shaken things up and so far, for the better.

The leadership that Christian and Brad Smith are providing is very exciting. In talking to and being at functions where Christian has spoken he certainly gets it and has great ideas and is already getting things moving.
He and Brad both agree enrollment and interest needs to grow at Marshall and football and doing everything possible to be part of the expanded playoff (if not grabbing the spot in NY6 before) is top priority. The $$$$ that would come here by making that would be athletics and university changing.
Winning the SBC with new alignment would certainly have us right there.
But he also knows the other sports Men?s and Women?s basketball are going to have to do their part and find a way to get more interest and $$$ flowing and he?s putting things in motion to help all programs in position to be successful.
Exciting times for sure.

I believe his background in the ACC, particularly at Pitt where they aren't the big kid on the ACC stage, is helping Marshall very quickly. He is tackling low hanging fruit, which is the first step in a really good continual improvement program. He show great signs of understanding change management, and from the folks I talk to, he has his team very willingly following him; while getting their ores in the water too.

He's been at every soccer home game and many away games. Haven't seen that before.

Yes. They will be unveiled with a ceremony involving Bruce at the App State game Thursday night.
