Have been out and about both daysa, felt like summer today (compared to yesterday). Wind chill here in NKY yesterday was often -30, ran about -20 to -25 the entire day. Today, back in the house and it is a balmy, no wind, 8 Degrees F.
When I lived in Fairbanks, i saw a thermometer read -62. That was the coldest I ever saw there. When it would get to -20 or so, after a few weeks of sub -40, I'd fire up the grill in shorts and cookout. It felt noticeably warmer. It's all what your acclimated to. Those weren't windchills, either. Actual temps. Fun fact: Fahrenheit and Celsius are the same at -40 degrees. Been there, done that.
