  • we get frustrated when quick, fast and athletic opponents drive from perimeter to the hoop.

we applaud when our guys drive from the perimeter to the hoop.

the offensive player almost always has the advantage if the offensive player is equal to or better than the defender in the categories mentioned above.  teams that are quick to double up and back are more difficult to drive on.

jimmies and joes do matter including their mental abilities as well as physical, to include court awareness/vision.  Taylor is arguably the best at direct, solo drives to the hoop and part of that is he's quicker and handles the ball better than Kinsey.  though, Kinsey has gotten better at dribble driving this year.  very different styles to about the same scoring/assists conclusion.  Kinsey leaps/jump shoots.  Taylor floats the ball and uses the backboard.  lucky to have both

  • Exactly. Even the Herd commentators have commented about the lack of keeping your man in front of you. It's been this way for years. I don't get it, but with Micah in there it's helped, even though it accumulates his fouls. Teams continually exploit this weakness.

We are much better at rotation this year. If our guards got beat in the past our bigs would also let them go by and try and just block it from behind. This year our freshman are much quicker at rotating to the ball and also closing out on the perimeter. .
