  • . . . longtime WSAZ-TV Sportscaster Keith Morehouse and his wife as they recently have become grandparents.

Coach D'Antoni mentioned this on his radio show with Steve Cotton this evening.  Mrs. Morehouse is the daughter of the late Dr. Ray Hagley, I believe, and Danny indicated he spent a lot of his time at MU at/with the Hagleys.  Keith, of course, is the son of former Herd play-by-play announcer, the late Gene Morehouse.  Danny also noted that Gene Morehouse, in doing broadcasts of HERD games back in his time at MU, dubbed the guard from Mullens as "Dandy Dan" D'Antoni!  Danny mentioned this in context of discussing his current players, how he and his staff urge these young men not only to play ball at MU, but to get involved with, and embrace, not only basketball, but the school as a whole, the City of Huntington, the Tri-State, and even the State of WV as a whole.  Conversation also included statements by Danny, and some in the audience where the show originates, about the quality of our players as a whole, how they and their parents in many cases appear to be enjoying Marshall and Huntington, again in terms of the "total" student experience, etc.  Very positive and uplifting show overall as to Marshall basketball, and the University overall, IMO!!
