  • The Thundering Herd are building off 16 wins in two years under Huff, including bowl berths and an iconic upset at Notre Dame.

  • Excellent article, one of the best I have read in some time. Obviously the players are loving the change of culture. Hope we can hold onto him for a while; he'll leave eventually.

  • Really good article with great insight from players such as Porter.

Also interesting to hear first hand just how bad the culture was under Doc and the job Huff has had trying to change that culture.
The right way is always the right way- Coach Huff

Yeah, shocked to hear how bad it was. And, Doc must not have been very accessible to the players. New blood was needed on many fronts.

  • Huff just plain gets it. Good read and a just shows how bad things were before he got here. Fights in parking lots and bringing in players that created a bad culture. Hope Huff is here for a while.

  • For those that did not know. After Cato graduated, Doc's culture and teams were a progressive train wreck. Huff has had to do more than just try to win games since he has been here. I think this year is the year you really see the progression. LETS SKO HERD.

  • I'd like to present this as Exhibit A for why I roll my eyes into my brain every time somebody here claims that Huff is just a Doc clone.

Exactly. No way a Doc coached team goes to South Bend and comes home with a win.

But they probably finish with the same record and same bowl... I guess the argument to be made is the ND win is still all anyone talks about and no one outside of diehards care?

With that said, good article on Huff and the Herd. He was probably what we needed at the time to "clean" up the program. Even in the Cato days some of those stories told are wild that they got away with things.

FYI: Well, I live in Florida and I run into a lot ND fans and they certainly know about Marshall.

  • Great article!!!  It really speaks volumes to read about players like Porter and Tucker saying how much they respect Huff and like playing for him, even though they were not recruited by him.

  • We are lucky we have a coach like Huff at the helm during these new college football recruiting changes. We really ran the risk of falling off a cliff with an old school coach running things when NIL hit. Huff knows what he is doing and has learned from some of the best.

We shouldn't be worried about Huff, we should be worried about finding a comparable coach to replace Huff when he eventually lands a major P5 job.
