  • He also had us as a 13 seed on or around March 1. Might as well be drawing names out of a hat at this point.

Good point! As Mother use to say "If wishes were fishes beggars might dine. Sorry my Mother was a school teacher with a  Masters Degree with plus 30 hours and I heard her say that a 1000 times.

  • We have to get past the first game of the conference tournament first. Something we haven't done in 2 years.

  • I'm afraid with the prospective roster ... without another talented guard that can create we headed for 13-18 or so and averaging 2000 at the Cam by mid-January.

    Hope I'm wrong.

We have added 2 guards and have plans for Jacob to possibly play as a 3.

Yes according to these experts we were the team that was going to represent the SB as a #13 seed. Instead we got beat by a #11 seed in our own conference in our first game for the second year in a row. Now we are hearing how good we will be again. It's starting to remind me of an old Wendy's commercial, "where's the beef".

  • We lack dribble drive scoring. Only Taylor can.  We don?t have enough scoring and shooters.  We have a lot of height.  Maybe we will finally feed the post and set on the block.  We need (2) more scorers that can create off the dribble.

Absolutely correct. It's commonsense. As someone else said, defend Taylor and shut him down and you shut our team down. No Kinsey to worry about anymore slashing to the hole.

Are they going to play? We don't have depth and major questions all over the roster. Nutter better be able to contribute because Braun isn't and we have 3 other bench players that won't either.

  • That is great that Lunardi thinks that much of us. So I am guessing by this thread that the expectation should be to compete for either a regular season championship and/or a tournament championship. I would guess that we won't roll out some excuses later on (which we have been good at lately). I am also guessing that some type of bar should be set as to how this team should finish?

    Let's lay out the facts:

Fact: We will not get to the NCAA tournament unless we win the Sun Belt Tournament. The last three seasons we have been 1-3 in conference tournament play. The one win was a preliminary round win over Florida International. The three losses were against: Rice, Louisiana Tech and Texas State. But after those three conference tournaments, a 3-year extension was granted. So is the bar early exits from conference tournaments acceptable???

  • I hope the OOC is much stronger so if we don't win the league we can at least get a look or NIT bid. That should be the goal every year.

Agree, people need to stop falling for Danny's BS and exit results. Every year we hear how we got this guy or that can and blah blah. I used to be in that group but won't be fooled anymore. His success is a Doc clone. Wins enough but always lays an egg when it counts. Can't coach in game days and is stubborn and hard headed to a fault.

  • Well, no matter how good a season, outstanding or somewhat above average, and no matter what Conference affiliation, MAC, CUSA, SBC, etc., appears best MU can ever look forward to is a 13 seed or lower.  Can, of course, be improved with better OOC foes, but we all know that the powers that be have to manage to keep Danny's overall MU record over .500 somehow, by hook or crook, etc., etc.
