our competition for these kids he's talking to is a bunch of nobodys.  we're looking at kids that weren't happy with their playing time at Binghampton, Samford, CSU Bakersfield...i don't find that encouraging.

Guys, it is obvious that DD's "way" is not working out.  Recruiting mostly high school players is not going to work for MU.  I was kind of hoping that the "loyalty pitch" would work out for DD.  Obvious he has to change his recruiting strategy after loosing Andy & Micah.  Also, agree the bench has not played at a high enough level.  I also believe DD has been hard headed with his ability to coach players up when they just don't have the skills and abilities to reach high level basketball.  I do have a soft spot for DD, because he truly bleeds green.  He is loyal to his players, the school, & has friends to a fault.  On the other hand we forget that he did take us to NCAA, and we had a good win in the tournament.  I am one leg in and one leg out with DD.  I am hoping he can turn it around quickly.

I hope Volpes is a decent player, but he did play in the MEAC. The school he played for MDES had one guard on the second All MEAC team and one guard on the third all MEAC team, he is not listed. You have to factor in that the MEAC was ranked 29 out of 32 basketball conferences. If he looks good on his highlight films, remember the competition he is playing against. Just sayin.

All we can do is hope Voyles and Martin pan out. They have a lot of production to replace, not to mention Conner trying to take up the slack for Kinsey. A very tall order.

I don't see it happening. Just to many guys that can't play and we lost our top 3 players. And two of those were the scorers and creators.i hope I'm wrong but I have zero hope.

Yep and it's sad Danny didn't open up at least 2 more spots and try to make Marshall basketball as good as it can be. Instead he makes the brand and fans suffer for his recruiting mistakes and allowing guys to sit 4-5 years at the end of the bench.

Something I found interesting is that he scored 257 points in 429 minutes played.  That is a slightly better points per minute average (0.6) than Kinsey (0.58) and Taylor (0.56).

This upcoming squad definitely needs an offensive threat to take some pressure off Curfman.

The bigger concern is that he clearly does not appear to be a PG, his assist totals were pretty low.

He was the leading scorer, but he averaged 12.9ppg, the next leading scorer averaged 11.6ppg. He did miss some games (about 10), but he was number 5 or 6 in average minutes play per game at 21.6mpg so I doubt if his contributions would be must different he hadn't miss some games. The team had 10 players averaging more than 10 minutes per game so his coach liked to play a lot of players. My guess would be his totals would have increased, but his averages would stay the same.  He was .492 in fg% and .326 in 3 point %.
