WE ALL want a football championship or multiple football championships.
Defense wins championships.
I think the special teams unit will be deadly; kick blocking and potentially kick returns.
Offense should play smart, controlled football and eliminate turnovers.
I like Huff's recipe and what he is cookin'
If we're building a team to win a championship, you have to be tough on the road. Playing and winning on the road in a hostile environment against a very good team is the hardest thing to do at the college level. Home field advantage is real and it's the reason all the big boys stack the deck with home games (of course money is also a huge driver to book home games as well).
Anyway the way to win on the road is play defense and running the ball. Defense and rushing travel very well.
They are reliable and it's about preparation, attitude and execution. If you show up with a well prepared defense and an offense that knows how to execute the run game and the offense as a unit has the attitude that they are going to run the ball and no one is going to stop them. Then at that point it's assignment football and it's about beating the man in front of you went the ball snaps and beating down their defense. Running the ball kills home field momentum and stabilizes the game.
There's really nothing better to crush a home team's spirit that to go right down the field in a long drive and get in red zone and just run the ball between the tackles and bust their defense and score from the 5 yard line. It's just screams we're tougher than you.
So yeah it's not the air raid passing attack but it's the best formula to win.
