The cream rises to the top, while the chaff gets tossed. The best G5 players will move to the P5 while the G5 gets the leftovers, the kids who either couldn't crack the depth chart, lost their jobs, or had some issues (grades, discipline, legal, etc.) How anyone could think that losing your best players and replacing them with the cast-off from bigger programs is good for the G5 is beyond my understanding. Sure, there will be exceptions, but by and large I think it's a fairly clear negative overall for the G5. As to Marshall, we haven't yet seen it hurt us from a football standpoint as we haven't had a Pennington or Leftwich to get poached as overall we haven't been a great team with great players since this mess started. But imagine the situation of a Chad who we take from nothing, lowly rated and barely recruited, turn him into a star, then he leaves us for a bigger school. We've seen a bunch of that with basketball already, be it West, Taylor or Handlogten. G5 is becoming a minor league system for the P5, where the best get called up to the majors and those who don't perform get sent back to the minors to work on their game.
