  • He is "very very very very very excited" about a QB that he has recruited and received a commitment from, however we have a policy about not announcing commitments publicly right away.  I'm assuming that the QB is a high school player.

  • I would say it is JacQai long... He just transferred to Hurricane from his previous HS in Akron OH. I would say this is so he is more easily accessible to coaches here in Huntington. He also looks to be being recruited by ECU and App State so closer to them as well.

  • how would you all rate Trickett, 1 to 10?  assuming Fancher starts, how would you rate him?
if somebody else starts, is that a good sign or bad (although Albany may muddy the waters, being more or less a practice)?

can we get through a full year without having to replace the QB?

We seldom go a full year without needing to replace a QB, usually because of injury, whether acknowledged or not. Colombi was clearly injured late in the BG or early in the Troy game, Birdsong in the OU Game, Litton in Akron. Cato had some full years, Wells did as well, but I think most of us would agree he should have had some series off vs. Rice. It's a tough position.

This does not excite me much

  • I couldn't tell if he was talking about this recruit or not but Trickett says he has been going after 4 star QBs and he tells them that it is the hardest time in history to be a starting QB at the college level.  He said he goes head to head with Kentucky, South Carolina and Duke for QBs.
