Well, we had a bunch of posters complaining a year or two ago that Coach Huff was looking for another job and would jump at the first chance to leave MU. Now I reading posts that he should be fired if he doesn't win a championship this year. The board is almost bipolar on Huff or the Doc Suckers still can't accept the fact that Doc was let go.
For the Doc supporters, the program was out of control. If some you knew how many of his players were in constant trouble, you would be glad he is gone. Doc's recruitment of misfits and trouble makers had a lot to do with his firing. The powers at MU were fed up with that situation and let him go.
Huff had to come in change the culture at MU Football and he faces a much tougher conference to compete in than CUSA. The SBC is the best non power conference in college football. MU is not going to out talent the SBC like it did when we entered the MAC (a glorified 1-AA conference at that time) or the watered down version of CUSA we left.
I agree, the jury is out on whether Huff can produce a SBC Championship. I do know he has given us the greatest victory in school history last year and we have haven't an embarrassment like losing to Akron at home 65-38. Akron finished in 4th place in the MAC East Division that year with a 5-7 record and their coach Terry Bowden was fired two years later. Let that sink in your mind while you think over that loss. I thought Doc should have been fired after that game.
Let's see how the season goes this year. Remember, injuries always play a big role at the SBC level of football since a lot of the backups are not as good as the starters. For posters always putting up an internet forecast, remember most of the predictors probably don't even know where MU is located much less than the level of talent on the team.
