  • Recruit inner city which is needed.  Also transfer portal is the greatest fixer in college b-ball history.  In it early and often is the way.  Shoot for the stars coach.

  • Way did a good job with Allen, but Allen also had the desire to improve. Bob spent a lot time working to improve his game.  Way also worked with his former HHS player Bob Barrett who went on to play at VA Tech. Barrett also worked hard to improve his game and even became a dishwasher at a restaurant to improve his hand skills. Maybe you were on active duty when Way was the coach? I was in school when he was the MU head coach and my fraternity intramural team would beat his recruits in games at Gullickson Hall. Way was a good person and a great high school coach (better HS coach than Dan), but he wasn't a recruiter.

Agree about Allen.  Was at MU during his entire career.  Had little raw talent and was really green, even somewhat awkward as a freshman.  Busted his butt, worked on parts of his game that he could be good at.  Never was a polished scorer, but didn't need to be on a team with Redd, Stone, Danny and Davidson.  By his senior year he was a prolific rebounder and solid interior defender.  One of the MAC's best at his position in those aspects of the game!  Again, personal EFFORT was the Key!

  • It appears according to the most recent media reports that it was a suicide by police. It was not great to see MU mentioned as being close by in the media reports.

Agree with the last sentence, FT2.  However, incident was in the 14th Street and 4th Ave. vicinity, pretty close to campus.  Apparently, the Police issued an alert to MU Students to stay away from the area.

  • Trying to moderate fairly can be a huge chore. Once upon a time this place moderated itself and we had very few issues. Not sure where I've steered us wrong, but I see some of the same names over and over again. Maybe I should be more strict-which would piss off a certain group. Or do nothing and piss off another group. If folks would just refrain from the name calling that may solve a little of our problems. Like I said trying to be fair can be one helluva a chore.

That is one of the many reasons I quit visiting another board regarding MU.

  • CM hire their new coach yet?

I'm hearing it is going to be Corey Woomer. He is the head coach of Milton Middle Football and an assistant in basketball.

I've heard the same rumor.  i don't know a thing about CW other than his current positions that you just posted, but did they not have anyone at all interested in that job??  it's, what, the 2nd or 3rd biggest HS in WV?  & you hire an ASST coach from 1 of your feeder middle schools (that i assume has never been a BASKETball HC before)?  (i guess he was an asst on the CM girls' team this past season, wanted to correct that.)

He was approved by the board a couple of hours ago to be the new men's coach at Midland.
