  • Clint Trickett said during an interview, that the beauty of our practice,  is we prepare the 1st and 2nd string at the same time?  With equal reps?   I think he might have been talking week to week during the season.

I haven't personally heard much of this type practice.  Anyone know if this is true or how it works?

  • How?s Chase Harrison doing?   He was a 4 star in HS.  He has to be about ready to roll.  Penny2 as well.

    Well it works like this
QB 1 gets about 50 percent of the snaps
Then QB 2 gets the other 50 percent
    It?s damn brilliant

  • You'd only do that if you don't have a true QB1. Or anything 1, imo.

I know you like disagreeing with me. They aren't giving QB2 half the snaps, unless QB1 isn't a clear QB1. Same for other positions.

Normally back ups get 1/4-1/3 of the snaps, depending on who they are playing. They'll get more if the opponent is weaker, less if it's a strong opponent.

During camp, especially if you're unsure who is your #1, then sure, you can evenly split reps. When it's game week prep, they should not be 50/50

See this is what I'm saying. You will go on all day about Huff collapsing in mid season even if he goes 9-4. And continue to berate a freshman QB that wasn't even expected to start and was thrown in the mix. But it's hard to find the posts when the basketball team collapses at the end of the year. And heck, talk about the basketball QB spot called PG? I just wish we had ONE. But maybe I should give you a break. Once basketball season gets closer, I'm sure you will be on the threads doing the same as you are football? But I won't hold my breath.

Bust, please stop hijacking posts and talking about non-sense. This is about splitting practice reps in football, lol and you tie it into basketball.

You need help. I can't believe i defended you in a conversation about banning you.

They've had 4 days of camp, it's nowhere near game week.  At this point, you prepare all of them.  This isn't only done at MU........

Yep.  And based on backup practice snaps, anyone reading too much into that that Fancher is not the clear #1???  Well they are reading too much into it in hopes predictions and talent evaluations come true.

Yeah, it's nonsense and not a fact saying huff is a .61 coach who hasn't won a title, and fancher has not performed well at QB. Those are true. It is verifiable. Go watch the bowl game. And it doesn't matter that we finished on a win streak, when the opposition was 14-27 and we did so with defense and our RBs. We averaged 22.5 ppg in that stretch as well, and that's not gonna win many games against good competition, even with that stellar defense, as we saw with louisiana, coastal and troy. A defense and RB can only do so much when you are near a zero % threat to pass.

People are tired of your continued straw man garbage, making things up, and calling them facts. You literally manufacture crap like I never expect basketball to win or expect anything else because I didn't jump ship while we were competing for first place in the LAST GAME of the season dude. Afterwards I said it was time for a HC change but you ignore that and act like it never happened. You also act like I don't expect a title in basketball, which i clearly stated I expect to win 2 out of 3 in the sunbelt but not every season.

You get things in your mind and just block out everything else. You continue to hijack threads and make any post about Dantoni. I could post about making a sandwich for a homeless person, and you would somehow tie that to how I don't expect basketball to win. I could post 2 + 2 = 4, snd you, and bison, and a couple others would reply disagreeing with it.

No it didn't. Read it again, slowly. Read/listen to understand, not to reply. 2/3 of that post was speaking about game week prep. The end of it said during camp, ESPECIALLY, if you don't have clear #1, then you split those reps. Not exclusively. Camp is camp, it's about everyone getting better and evaluating your talent. When you get to game week practice, it changes.

Normally back ups get 1/4-1/3 of the snaps, depending on who they are playing. They'll get more if the opponent is weaker, less if it's a strong opponent. (Opponent prep is game week practice, this is normal football prep)

During camp, especially if you're unsure who is your #1, then sure, you can evenly split reps. When it's game week prep, they should not be 50/50" (camp. Camp is the weeks in august leading up to game week practice, i included this in case someone was thinking about camp)

Johnny's original post was talking about Trickett talking about game week practice, not camp. That's why i addressed both. Of course the piling on starts because bison loves to be wrong just to disagree with me. Then you replied with no context or understanding.

You never get on here and talk about Dan like you do Huff. You gave Dan a little grief after the 12-21 season and then was back on board quick. You even praise Goran but trash Fancher. You trash the QB spot but don't have a problem with not even having a true PG on the basketball team. Again, you do nothing but make excuses for basketball while trashing Huff, a guy that actually works his butt off recruiting instead of accepting anything and rolling with it.
