  • After watching it, I have some new thinking about NIL.

Directly because of Manziel's Heisman season.

Head Coach gets 10+ million contract
The University gets 34 million in advertising
The stadium sells out every game
Adidas sells every Manziel jersey they were able to make
The town of college station sells out every hotel room at a premium for the football season

Most importantly the University gets 740 million in donations
    34 million engineering buildings
    21 million physics building
    Long list of benefits

  • From what I read ahead of watching it, the universities cannot be trusted to perform their own drug tests.

  • Yeah when you start breaking down the numbers the players definitely deserve some pay.  I'm just not a big fan of players being able to be poached at any given moment. But Johnny football is a hot mess, lol, hope he can get his life together.  But I do LOVE how he stuck it to the corrupt Ncaa.  They disgust me.

Depends on who is running them.  I helped run ours in the early 2000s and they were handled correctly.

The work rules should have been loosened for sure but straight pay I don?t agree with. Tuition room board town checks free clothes free books early class registration free tutors are all valuable benefits that student athletes get that the regular student body doesn?t.  Tax work wages and NIL as regular income that comes off cost of scholarship.

  • Just watched it. He destroyed himself. Probably even been worse if he had of been getting the NIL cash. He was totally out of control and couldn't handle fame.

  • He was a 19 to 20 year old KID who was on top of the world. Some of you need to think back to how immature we all were at 19 years old and then ask yourself how you would have handled being that famous and that wealthy.

Maybe grown ass men should stop worshipping kids who happen to be good at football?

Yep everyone is less mature at that age and does some things you might regret. But then there is Johnny Manziel immature. He had no self control at all, Zero, Zilch!!!

  • He has bipolar disorder and struggles with addiction.

Even still he is a Heisman Trophy Winner, Davey O'Brien award winner, The Associated Press Player of the Year winner and he made almost 8 million dollars in the NFL.

  • Saw a post while he was playing for A&M that his family had money and some at his high school thought he was spoiled kid/punk. Don't know if that was true or his class mates were jealous of his life style.

Manziel and his buddy invented that story to explain how he had so much cash and was traveling all over the country and driving fancy cars.  It wasn't true.  An agent would send him a plane ticket and he would fly to a hotel and sign autographs for cash.
