  • Great conversation with Coach DD, Stevie and West. I love listening to DD talk basketball and hearing/seeing the lasting impact he has made on this program. Some info on this years team near the end.

  • That was a good interview by Stevie and West. And it's why you have to like Dan as a person. I just wish he took recruiting more serious and tried to stockpile more depth. That is what s so frustrating to me. I know what the guy could do if he had enough pieces  but he just refuses to do it. But very good stuff and enjoyed listening to it.

  • I would encourage any of you to stop by his office, sit down and talk basketball with him. It is very enlightening.

  • This podcase is so much more enjoyable to listen to than others who do such for MU sports. My ONLY complaint is I wish they had better sound (the one mike is just not adequate).

  • Good to hear Curfman has lost weight (should help him not losing his guy on defense and driving to create shots on offense) Voyles can play defense (we missed a bulldog at the guard spot to stop other teams guards the second half of the year) and the Texas state guy is more athletic than they apparently anticipated and can move.

Sounds like Dan expects a lot out of Conner and Obinna and Conner to play point (couldn't make it out if it was some or full).

Did say the Indiana state transfer is athletic and his shooting is better.

Conner handles the ball very well for 6'9" but no way he can play the point and the system thrive. And I've heard Martin isn't very good from someone that's been watching. I really hope this team proves me wrong but I just don't see a good year at all. I just don't see the guy with the motor that makes the team go running the offense like Jon or Andrew did.

How about someone sit down with him and explain recruiting, rebounding and defense.  He seems to have I want to be your buddy and keep you on scholarship part down.

  • I saw Voyles and another new guy, can't remember his name, putting up shots in the cam one day a couple weeks ago. Voyles hit 18 3s in a row, while dribbling, and stepping back from a staff member that was a "defender"

I played pick up in the rec with a couple of the newcomers the other day. Kycen is a lot more athletic than I think most people are going to realize and he's got a good shot on him as well. Needs to put on some weight but I think he's gonna be a good one. Cam Crawford was also in there. He's a strong dude and even though he clearly wasn't taking it seriously I like his quickness on the perimeter. He could help us defensively. Still wish we would have brought in one more proven scorer at least from the portal though.

Don't disagree with anyone's take that Coach D is approachable and willing to talk basketball to HERD Fans, and probably others.  Don't doubt his knowledge in many, many aspects of the game itself.  Know this from listening to, and talking with, him at functions such as the annual Coaches' tours.  Very personable, engaging and often, quite funny.  Like others, however, I wish he was more ardent in his recruiting activities where I believe he doesn't use those positive personal traits to the fullest in seeking to up the caliber of MU's recruits overall.  That said, it does sound from some of the remarks on here that some of our new recruits, and some returnees who haven't that much at MU thus far may surprise us all, hopefully "pleasantly" in the upcoming season.  Just wish we had one or two more solid and experienced players on the squad that all these younger/new players could coalesce around!

  • Don't doubt any of the things being said here. But we also LOST 2 20+ scorers (that had been in the system for years and was very comfortable) and the SB freshman of the year. But like others here also said, we needed one or two more. And that is where Danny always comes up short. It's like he is recruiting lazy and gets to the point, ahh that will be enough.
