  • The game will be on ACC Network. If you have a subscription to a cable provider that has ACC Network you should be able to get game on ESPN+ as well.

Pitt coming off loss to Georgetown on road but don't put too much stock in it. We lost at Butler 0-1 and a few days later came home to knock off #2 Pitt last year. Pitt lost in College Cup semi-finals last year.

There are 14 teams left in US with no losses or ties, 4 of them are in SB

Pitt is an impressive 33-4-6 in last 43 home matches

Marshall's RPI is up to #7 as of this morning. My guess is we will be ranked #2 or #3 in United Soccer Coaches rankings later today. UK lost and Duke and Syracuse both tied since last poll.

  • Up to #2 in the United coaches poll.

It is warm and sunny here on the hill at Pitt. Looking forward to a great match.

Awesome! Ironically Pitt was #2 when we played them last year, now we are #2

UCF and JMU have also entered the top 10.  WVU comes out of RV to #16th. UK drops to 19th after loss to Wisconsin. Pitt dropped out of top 25 to 26th (RV).  That's three SB teams in top 10 and 5 in top 25.

  • Herd now up 1-0.

Bell laid it across the box and Garcia-Pascual slotted it home.

  • Messed around and gave up a goal. Too many sloppy passes. PItt winning a lot of the loose balls 50/50.

    Gotta clean that up.

  • The first 30 minutes the Herd owned. Missed first touches and bad passing hurt us in the last 15 minutes. I think we can regroup and come back to win this in the 2nd half.

Two Herd defenders converged on that contested header attempt, leaving a Pitt striker unmarked.

This is a really good broadcast with appropriately somewhat ACC homer announcers.

Pitt's GK IS the real deal.

  • Backend breakout has been really bad. Making it way too easy for Pitt to box us into small spaces. We need to get the ball to the flanks and run. Self inflicted. Pitt is doing exactly what Xavier did but more effectively. You simply cannot dribble your way out of tight spaces vs 2 or 3 defenders.  Get in to Pinto and let him and MF go to flanks and let Pitt chase.

  • They are pinching and then swarming the middle. Go outside. You just saw the cross field pass and Simon got a good shot off ...just hit it a little high.  They are having our defensemen cover  1 vs 1 vs better dribblers.  Oh we scored...yeaaaa

I really didn't think was 'lucky' per se.
That strike was SMOKED, giving the defender no chance to get a solid block.
