Opponents have made it to our Red Zone 9 times this season.  Once they make it to our Red Zone, opponents have failed to score only twice this season.

We have made it to the opponents Red Zone 16 times this season.  We have scored on 12 of those trips to the Red Zone.

Our opponents have rushed for only 1 touchdown from inside our Red Zone against our defense.

Only UAlbany had more rushing attempts than us this season.

Every opponent except ODU has attempted more passes than we have this season.

We have gotten a first down because of a penalty 14 times this season.  Opponents have gotten a first down because of a penalty only 4 times.

We have thrown for more yards than our opponents in every game this season.

Except ODU, every opponent we have faced has converted more 4th downs against us than we did against them.  Neither ODU or Marshall converted a 4th down in that game.

Every team we have faced this season has averaged more yards per punt than us.

I didn't read all these stats, stopped when you said opponents only scored 1 rushing td against us because that's incorrect.

Points to Fancher doing a pretty darn good job, the Red Zone stuff notwithstanding. But with a short field easier to defend us, like it theoretically is for everyone.

We haven't exactly played a Juggernaut slate of games against quality opponents. That changes in October. We could very well be 4-4 in a . month's time.

We got plenty to clean up. Time of possession has gotten better. We are top 25 in TOP.

I agree but suggest no reality checks - you risk being labeled not so smart. I've got my own theories, of which very few ( i.e. none ) would be popular if ever revealed.

Uh, we?ve given up a bunch of rushing TDs, many over 40 yards (I can think of 6 off the top of my head).

Thanks for pointing out the mistake.  According to HerdZone opponents have rushed for only 1 touchdown from inside our Red Zone.

That was my mistake in wording.  However, I didn't fact check any of the HerdZone stats.  There are a couple stats listed on HerdZone that I know are wrong including that Charles "Chuck" Montgomery has not appeared in a single game this season.  Yet, in other stats they have him listed correctly as having caught 1 TD pass and having thrown one pass for 75 yards.  HerdZone can't have it both ways.

Not meaningless, but very misleading.  We had the ball longer than ODU because they scored on 4 long TD runs and we were right back on offense.  That's not a stat in our favor in such a situation.
