  • - You must purchase a brick to even have a chance at season tickets
    - A priority point system will be in place to determine who gets seats
    - All season tickets require a Big Green contribution ranging from $60 and up
    - Assume any tickets not sold through season tickets will be made available to public prior to first game vs Manhattan in March

  • Maybe they know more than I do, but we previously averaged 82 fans per game. What makes them think they can charge these prices?

  • Season tickets also do NOT include the WVU game. That will be sold as a separate ticket.

  • It's really ridiculous. They are out of touch on this one. Overwhelming negative feedback on facebook. The best seats should not exceed the price of the best seats for football IMO.

  • I know they are wanting to capitalize on the excitement of the new stadium but these prices are hilarious. This isn't Pitt, or Coastal Carolina for that matter.

  • I don't know so I am going to ask, re: the comment about pricing being more than football.

How many baseball home games are there in comparison to football? My guess, double.

This is the cost of growing a program that in reality has been dormant for years. You can either be part of it or not. Just like the other sports.

Yes, we need to grow it, but baby steps. Many of us bought a brick to support the program and donate as well. Just think the prices compared to WVU, Southern Miss, Coastal, etc, are way out of line. Like soccer, build it up and then charge more. jmho
That said, I assume they have done a market study and think they can get tix sold at these prices. If so, thats good for us.

No way they've done any research on this for our area. Maybe done comparable analysis to schools our size but many of those aren't in the same financial area as MU.  Hopefully this works out.  I was looking forward to buying season tix but just can't fit this in.

  • $60 donation per ticket x 2 = $120
    2 season tickets at $200 x2 = $400
    A brick $195                         = $195

Total Cost for 2 season tickets = $715 (If I'm understanding this pricing thing correctly which I may not be)

This does not seem to be the best way to get the community involved in Herd baseball. I get it they have to make some money back, and I'm fine with that but this seems kinda nuts IMO. 25 home games roughly bring it to $28-$29 bucks per game for 2 tickets. which then leads to how many games can a person actually make it to.

There will be more day of game ticket buyers than season ticket buyers due to weather and other variables. To me it would make more sense to offer season tickets packages in the best 3-5 sections behind the plate and then just have general admission or cheaper tickets for the sections behind dugouts to be purchased on a game by game basis along with season ticket leftovers.

I would venture to guess that almost every person interested in baseball season tickets already gives that donation to the Big Green b/c of football or basketball (or just because they want to donate).  The brick purchase is a one-time thing that most people already have completed that are going to.  Now, you're down to $16/game.  Much more reasonable.

OTOH, for non-season ticket holders that just wanna walk up & buy a single game ticket, those BG requirements & brick $ will probably be added into the ticket price?  at least, that's what they do for FB tix.  if you walk up to the stadium ticket window to buy a chairback seat for 1 game, they charge you $100 (what a chairback season ticket holder pays per game, $50 BG + $50 ticket).

so, to FJ's post where he calculated the per game cost, that very well could be what a single-game ticket costs?

Good question, but how many single game tickets will be available?  I'm guessing there are a lot of people that will want to be season ticket holders for this year, in particular.  Does anyone know how many the Jack will actually hold?

  • Also can we come up with a new name other than "The Jack" that's what Marshall calls everything. The Cam, The Joan, The Dot, The Jack. How original

Easy. I will not be part of it lol.

They start competing for championships then they can charge these ridiculous prices. I can take my family to a Reds game cheaper than this.

certainly to goodness, on a brand-new stadium, we didn't UNDERestimate how many seats we needed?!  i understand you don't want it 80% empty all the time, but it needs to be big enough to accommodate a good walk-up crowd.

Original stories say capacity would be about 3000, but it sure doesn't seem like there's that many contemplated seats either going in or in the renderings.

  • Anyone have the actual schedule? (I'm assuming minus Conference games).

Other schools have released theirs. And you guys are quoting game dates. I can't find it online anywhere.

I plan on getting season tickets.

Specifically, Manhatten is mentioned as the inaugural game on March 1, and WVU (not included in season tickets) is March 20.

  • I'm wondering when they are going to install the bleacher sections down the first and third base lines from the edges of the dugouts to the bullpens.

They probably want to sell out the seats behind home plate first before they start working on the bleacher seats.
