  • Has been several years since I posted pics of my Marshall Man Cave.  Have added a few pieces including signed replica jerseys as well as the Moss Heisman letterman jacket.  Recently connected with Chris Parker, Carl Lee, Mike Barber and Doug Chapman who have been very cool about signing the jersey's as well as helmets. Always looking to add pieces to the collection especially older items.  Also on the hunt for ticket stubs to the K-State win, the 1998 Motor City Bowl and the 97 snow bowl.  Always good to hear and see what others have.

  • Good stuff.

Are your helmets replicas or game worn? Can't tell from the images. What is your personal favorite piece in the collection? What's the story on the Chase Bank Heisman jacket?

    Awesome! Looks great, MoHerd.

I'm assuming you'll be purchasing the Marshall vs. Virginia Tech panoramic that's now for sale.

Oh...Where did you get your Marshall vs. Notre Dame tri-pic done? That framing looks sweet.

Just a suggestion: Attach a tag to include the price you would ask if you were going to sell the items at todays value. I have no idea if you are married or not.....but if you are, your spouse may have absolutely NO IDEA what they would be worth (should you pass away before her). My brother-in-law passed recently and his wife has absolutely no idea what anything that he had might be worth (and he had lots of stuff, old money, motorcycles, A-model ford, 10-15 cars/trucks, many Harleys, trucks, farm tractors, and too much to begin to list, etc.!!!!)

  • Ok just saw a couple of questions in the comments:
My favorite piece has always been the Young Thundering Herd shirt from 1971.  Got it framed from a good friend who kept the original shirt then had the Director of WAM sign it.  I remember as a kid having the exact shirt so this brought back a lot of memories.  Randy's 97 Heisman letterman jacket is also a favorite.  Thinking the only other ones out there were owned by Manning, Woodson and Leaf.
The framed Notre Dame piece came from Stadium Frame.  They usually do panorama's but didn't do one from that game.  Still like the shot of Gilmore's interception.
Excellent point about tagging all my collectibles.  We have two daughters who didn't go to Marshall and could care less about the stuff.  That will be my next project.
Thanks to everyone looking and making comments.

I'm an out of towner.  Is/was any place in Huntington selling stadium panoramic photos from the Notre Dame game?  I'd love to buy one.

  • That's a fun room! I have a couple of the ol' Joan Luxury Box Seats as well. I made a little platform for them.

  • One day, I'll get to take over the rest of the house but my wife has confined me to our theater room, well, my theater room lol.

I have some cool pieces but not nearly as much as you do!

My most prized are the 71 young thundering herd helmet signed by that team, jack and red. Pruett, chad, bradshaw and some other recent greats as well. Then the chad and byron signed black 75 real helmet, i was told was one of a kind. National title soccer ball signed with a championship ring in a display case, and a couple NCAA tourney team signed basketballs. Moss signed vikings jersey and various framed signed photos. A football signed by Notre Dame coach and Huff with a framed pic like you have signed by both with a game program signed as well by both coaches.

I really enjoy collecting herd items. I just wish i had as nice a showcase as you

Unbelievable! Your collection just sent me through the memory lane of why so many of us love the Herd. Great collection, thanks for sharing!
