FYI: From another thread. Bama and Ohio U pulled their offers when he got hurt. I wonder if he is 100% over the injury?

"Info from another confirms Moore is currently on an official visit with a Southern Conference school
Alabama and Ohio cooler their interest on Moore when he missed last season due to injury. He?s had a good bounce back summer on the AAU circuit
Will be interesting if anything develops more (no pun intended) with him"

Look at his timeline and you see a lot of major programs offered him in 2022 before he got injured. His offers in 2023 were from lower lever programs like MU. I just hope he has recovered from the injury. Another thread stated that he was looking good after the injury in the AAU circuit. If he is healthy and a good player, I hope he doesn't bail on MU like the center did after last season. It is hard to compete with the major programs for talent in basketball.

It's why Dannys recruiting is all wrong for todays game. Transfers is the way to build and lock in. Just stubborn and stuck in a time warp.

I'm not sure what 'major' programs you're identifying, b/c I only saw Alabama as a "P5" conference offer (yes, I know P5 means football but still...).  He had a tweet (X) posted in August that listed his then-current offers and I have no reason to think he fudged the list.

OK, the only major program to offer him was Bama and maybe Tulane and the other schools were mid majors and lower level programs. The Bama offer does seem strange without any other major offers. I do know that Ohio U pulled their offer after he got hurt. Here is a link with the timeline of his offers. You can see the offers were from higher profile schools in 2022 before he got hurt compared to his offers in 2023.

Who says?  You're trusting your source's information vs. the player's.  I don't think he, or most, would put Ohio on this list without there being a valid offer.  And this was in August - well after he was recovered from his injury.  Weird, I know.

There are some kids that think a contact = an offer, but he appears to be way more sophisticated than that.

Go look at the Ohio U recruiting message board, there was only one post about him and the player was claiming he was offered by Ohio U in 2022 about four pages back. There is no further information on his recruitment like other players Ohio keep recruiting. He may have made up the offer? Maybe he made up the offer from Bama? Who knows?  Did he do recruiting visits to the schools, that is a good sign that the school was interested in him.

I bet we will soon hear he is a great player from the practice attendees, it happens with most of them. But most of Dan recruits are not DI material. I just don't get excited about Dan's recruiting and program management if you can it that.  Sorry, but I don't really care. I have lost interest in MU basketball with Dan as the coach after nine years of poor overall performance.

  • i see some upsides- time will tell.  i'm glad he chose us over three? other SBC schools.  i don't know how many other Herd offered recruits have offers from other SBC schools, but i hate losing out to peers, esp when they end up being good players (WKU and Ohio come to mind, from the past)

The Alabama offer is about like the Michigan St offer Toussaint got. And if the kid ever does have one good year he will be gone for the money. Danny will either have experience that isn't very good or freshman that isn't ready. Go get transfers that went to major schools that are good and want to play instead of sitting. Lock them in for a couple years.

  • Appears to be like many/several of DD's recruits at his position:  either his school never had a weight room or he couldn't find it!!

  • Those players look really slow in the video. Remember highlight videos are professionally produced to make the recruit look "good". I wonder where the video was taken and who are the players he is playing against. The player wearing 81 defending is really slow or very tired.

  • From that one pic with Danny he is what, about 6'8" to 6'10" and maybe 170-185# (in a wet uniform)!!  Which traditionally in the DD era means DON'T look for him to be much of a positive factor in areas like "Interior Defense", "Offensive and/or Defensive Rebounds", for at least a couple of seasons, or more!!!

True, but he also has video of him going 2-7 from three point land, but who wants to see that lol.

Think Moore fits the mold of a Dan player (tall, lean, long, coordinated, and likes to score) and should do well in this green light offense.
