  • But he's gonna keep defenses a little more on their toes than Cam.  I'd rather lose with Cole the rest of the way and let him get 4 starts and all the QB 1 reps.  I tried to stick it out with Cam but I'm regretfully off that train.

  • Cole is closer to ready than Cam by what feels a good margin. I could see why he didn't get put in. But I think he'd get better by the game. Rather see him the rest of the year now that the change was made.

  • I agree. With Cole in Ali looked better because we have a more balanced offense.  Plus our WRs don?t get much separation.

Cole as an inexperienced D1 QB has his hands full with a 💩 OL and WR's who can't get separation to create reasonable throwing windows.  He's gonna have to force stuff.

  • I really want Pennington to step up and be the man. That being said I believe Cam is banged up and he cannot move as good.  Cam has played really good early in the season.  Some Marshall qb has to connect on deep balls or we can expect super aggressive defenses the rest of the year.  Lastly, Cole need to make the receivers stay after practice and work on timing.  Time for Chad to get in the OC box!

  • Where are all you Pennington clamorers
So you got what you wanted
It now seems obvious the reason for Huff?s reluctance to play him
The problems on this team are not anything Pennington can fix or improve upon

  • I don't think anyone was clamoring claiming he was God's gift to humanity. O line is horrendous and play calling is atrocious. I think most of us want to start the process of Coles growing pains NOW instead of waiting till next season. The season is OVER let's get these young guys some reps.

By the time Pennington was put in --his team was down 21 points and everyone knew he had to pass. His first real action under the lights and considering the OL and his lack of reps he looked to have a better grasp of the 'O' than Fancher had in the last three games. How many reps do you think he got with Fancher starting the game. The staff should have been getting action for the backups way before this game. Coaching is a major problem for this team.

  • Cole may be a decent QB some day. But he isn't even close right now. I think he is more potential to throw the ball. But right now he isn't any better than Cam. Yes it's a bad situation.

We should see if he is ready. We had a good 1st drive with him. Cole looks like he could run a pro style offense. Take snaps under center and running play action.

Please, enough with the play calling.
The play calling would look a lot better if there weren't, what, 9-10 drops or passes that were actually thrown on target or a QB who doesn't correctly read from high to low when the deep was the primary receiver.

The offense is a refinery fire mostly because of the roster.
Since the FB staff is essentially the GM, the roster is the coaches' responsibility...and that's primarily on Huff.

  • Don't know if most of you were at the game or not, but let me give you two undisputable facts about what happened when Cole entered the game.
    1. The rest of the team's energy increased by thousands of percent, effort was far more visible and expectation has much greater.
    2.  We moved the ball because he didn't hesitate to take action with it.

He'll be just fine if he gets to play, but I'm not holding my breath about that.

I of course watched on TV, but I thought the Team's energy level increased very noticeably as well. I don't want to either anoint or have pressure put on Cole, and I'd like to preserve his RS if at all possible. I can't even remember if Cole has a RS left (  I'm getting really old ).

  • It does not matter who is at QB. An O line that can't block and a WR core that can't consistently get open or catch the ball when they do get open is a recipe for disaster. Pair that with some more than questionable play calling and this is what you get. Bad QB play all around

  • At this point if Huff doesn't go with Cole the next 4 games then he is in over his head. I have no idea if Cole will be better. But you have to give him a chance to see if he can grow. You have nothing to lose at this point.

  • Huff lashed out at the fan base by sending Cole out there.  It was a political hit job.  That being said, Cole threw to where legitimate receivers should have made catches.

    I had Cole ranked QB4.

My only advice to Huff is that if you really want to lash out at the Fanbase, do t use a BoG son.  #stupid

How could you have Penny2.0 ranked QB4 have you been to every practice since August ?
How can u rank a player you have seen play or practice ?
