I saw this on Facebook.  It may be complete BS.   The source was called Chill Sports if you want to research it.

The Herd is currently on a 3 game losing streak. With only one year remaining on the contract of an underperforming Charles Huff era, could changes be coming in Huntington? All I will say, I guess some posters have a short memory about Sonny's reign at UVA. He must have had the same genes as Rich and  MU gave him a second chance. The difference is Sonny couldn't win and Rich does win.

I do not put much validity into Chill Sports.  I have not seen anything reputable enough to consider them a creditable source.  However, Rich Rod just got a contract extension this year that raises his base salary to $800k.  Which is more than Huffs base salary.  Not much upside for him to consider coming here.

It was confirmed by mods on the Marshall rivals site that he acquired about the opening here durning the search. I don't think Marshall gave him much consideration. You got to remember that he was just an OC at ULM at the time and he comes with baggage.

Not being a coach in C-myself-out is all the upside needed.  I'm sure he'd wouldn't mind being in middle finger viewing distance of Morganhole, either.  A chance to stick it to them again.  Honestly though, it seemed like everyone figured out his spread offense and owned him for a long time.  Not sure if he's innovative enough for the 'Belt.  Jax hasn't played anyone this year worse than we haven't.
