  • Awesome season to coach and the team.  Can Grassie coach the other football?

  • What a regular season...

We were ranked #1 for nearly half of the games.
We were basically 2 games away from the greatest regular season the sport had ever seen.
We are actually a relatively young team.

One of three trophy goals obtained!  3 big games upcoming, all at home, for trophy #2!

If we bring the heat we can't be beaten again imo

    Too deep and too talented

If we play passive and lackadaisical we can lose

    Bring it!

    Go Herd!

If not could he at least take over spokesman duties.  Watching Grassie's post game comments tonight, Huff really need to ask Grassie for help in speaking to the public.

  • Very excited for the conference tournament, especially since all the games will be at home!  On the ESPN+ feed, the announcer said that Marshall would play Sunday evening but the Herd will play at 3:00 p.m., according to the Sun Belt Conference website.

  • Great win and great team. Played very well in the second half. Gotta get Duggan healthy for the tourney. Good crowd considering it was Halloween and nasty cold/windy

  • That?s awesome. I didn?t know UCF lost/tied (which I?m pretty sure they needed to do in order for us to win)?

This is well deserved. We are the best team in the conference this season. Now let?s keep it rolling in the post season.

  • What a great turn of events -- so glad we earned that well-deserved championship!

Looking ahead to ODU -- they play with a nasty attitude and lead the league in yellow cards.  Hope we can advance past them without any additional injuries.

    Or collect cards in response.
We collected 3 (IIRC) tonight & we were very fortunate that the 2nd card wasn't a red for a blantant pulling down a Gamecock player from behind with absolutely no attempt to make a play on the ball.

The conference slots the two hosts in the second game (7). Marshall simply chose to be in the earlier game (3) once the spots were locked down.

WVU got lucky last night to beat them. Got a questionable PK with 30 seconds left in the game to win 2-1. At least WVU and UCF will likely meet and one will be eliminated

  • Great night all in all.  A SB championship in a sport where 3 teams are in top 10, a minimum of four will likely be in NCAA, and a fifth team on a roll that knocked off the #1 and #2 teams in country in consecutive games (UK). All done with a major roster makeover and alot of key injuries. Tourney going to be quite a battle. Five teams have a legit chance to win it. I want us to win SB tourney after losing early last two years, but with some nagging injuries it wouldn't be worst thing for some guys to get rest.

Glad to see Duggin get some time. We really need him in postseason. Perotta was very good as stated and I also agree we mostly seemed in control in 2nd half. Garcia also seems to be coming around off the injury and a bigger threat each game. Silva getting back a little will help too. Our offense will be tough to shut out. The defense has to be more consistent imo.

    - My opinion is the Synegaard foul was not red card worthy. Stupid for sure but not dangerous like a complete takedown like a horse collar and he was in no way the last defender. The WVU PK was an easy call. Just a dumb play by ODU. In end, it's better for SB as ODU win would have brought down leagues RPI. Two different national pubs had articles on UCF game in which they stated game was in Harrisonburg. It was in Orlando.

Very true.  Its classified as simply holding, which warrants a yellow for "unsporting behavior".

Just watched it.  The foul in the box was clearly the correct call.  Stupid play.

  • We are far more dangerous with Silva in the lineup

Hopefully his injury is healed for phases 2 and 3 of the season

  • Just watched the last 15 min of UCF - James Madison.  JMU was dominant on a hot (75 degrees) night in Orlando. The Dukes kept possession, found openings, and were the much better side during that time.

They'll be a difficult out if we can get past ODU and they can outlast UK.

True but would we rather face the UCF-WVU winner instead ? Just counting my blessings.
