  • Seemed to be a very complicated person.  Great coach with anger issues.  May he RIP.

And you're following in his footsteps quite clearly.

  • If my son had the skill to play D1 basketball, I would have recommended Knight to be his coach. A complicated man but really knew basketball and was of the era to turn boys to  men.

  • Great coach. Faults , sure he had his. The measure of his worth can be traced to those who played for him, extremely loyal. He was not your 'everyone gets a trophy' kind of coach.

  • He knew great talent as evidenced by him saying John Taft could play for him, after Taft scorched his Hoosiers with 28 points.

  • As someone who followed Indiana during the Knight years, I do remember one thing that, I doubt, any other coach would have done. One of his star players was paralyzed while, I believe, playing a pick-up game of basketball during the offseason. The school revoked his scholarship. Bobby Knight took care of his tuition until he graduated. Again, he had his faults, but he also had some good in him. I also read that, while at Texas Tech, he gave back salary for a couple of years because he thought he did not deserve it.

  • was of the era to turn boys to  men.

We are now in the era where we turn boys into "girls," at taxpayer expense.
"On rainy days, the early justices would enliven case conferences with wine. On other days, even if the sun was shining, Chief Justice John Marshall would order wine anyway, saying, 'Our jurisdiction is so vast that it must be raining somewhere.' "
