He sucks? Really. Had a pretty damn good record and accomplished more here than about anyone else. Jirsa sucked. Herrion sucked. Dan? He might not be coach K but he definitely doesn't suck. Some of you have very short memories with basketball and it's success here. Name more than 1 coach that cheated in huck, that's done better in the last 50 years and support your argument. Good luck.

Well you know what that means? It means Marshall has sucked picking coaches not that Dan is good. Instead of comparing to the past why not have expectations of more than an average z6th place finish after nine years? We get it that you don't care how good we are as long as we can just do better than freeman, Jirsa and Herrion. We get it!!!

He literally is wasting two scholarships allowing 3rd year players to redshirt so they don?t lose a year of eligibility and leave after the season. I mean WTF do you see in this cat except for a two weekend stretch 5 1/2 years ago?

Yep he?s trash as far as a basketball coach.  You actually look stupid defending him and his reckless recruiting.  Let?s redshirt 2 guys that couldn?t stick their finger in their hind-end if paid to do so.  Makes sense so they can get the prized degree.  P.S. numb nuts, this has nothing to do with Huckaby or Jirsa but everything to do with the guy you apparently pull the covers up with every night.  You top or bottom in this relationship?

Wow, that is a telling fact about Dan; he can't beat a major program. Off the top my head the only other MU coach with no wins against a power team is Freeman? Dan's poor recruiting and coaching is exposed.

Even Jirsa beat a highly ranked WV team twice when Belien was the coach.

I can remember when Doc would do or say something that would really upset me. After a while, his crap didn't bother me anymore. It has carried over to Huff. I now know longer care what he says. He has completely killed my interest.

I don't think Dan "sucks"

BUT... We are at the same crossroads with him that we were with Doc Holliday. The two are very similar. After Snyder we needed someone to come in and stabilize the program, bring some expectation and relevancy back to the program. Doc did that. But, it became clear that his peak (The Cato Years) was over and he wasn't capable of getting us back there or sustaining that level of success. So It was time to make a change to try and find a person to build on that foundation that Holliday rebuilt and take us to the next level. Unfortunately, with the hiring of Huff we got the wrong guy and ended up with someone that if we don't cut ties with fast, will not only not build on Holliday's foundation but will take us backwards.

With Dan it's much the same... After the last few years of Herrion, we needed someone who could come in and give us some stability and respectability as a program. Dan was successful in that, but it has also become crystal clear that he is also past his peak (The Elmore Years) and isn't capable of getting us back there or sustaining that level of success. So we are at the same crossroads we were with Doc, it's time to let Dan go and go find someone who can build on what Dan has accomplished and take us to the next level. Or we run the risk of Dan destroying his own foundation. Dan has been far from awful but he's also proven to not be real good either.

Doc and Dan have different flaws, but the results are much the same.
