  • makes 2.7 Million/year! We cannot even match that. The main reason, I think< he would come here is to become a very successful HC then get a position at a top school. Which would be fine with me.

  • I like him but that is a big number for most G5 to pay for a HC.

  • Sean Lewis is highly respected still despite what Colorado has done. He's not coming here. He will likely end up either P5 head coach or elite P5 OC next year.

    That's what I'm thinking.

He probably is going to be job hunting.
Being an OC & having the play calling taken away is an indication that he will not be retained for the following season.

  • Whats funny is Deion mived on from him because Shurmar is an oline guy.  Their oline is as bad as ours and the switch did nothing to help the offense.  Sometimes you just don't have the Jimmie and Joe's. Sean Lewis would be a major hire, will never happen because we won't pay someone that much.  But if we were serious we would, a great coach would pay for themselves 10 fold.

True enough...and to that end our lack of jimmies & joes extend beyond the OL. The Buffs have some skill players. Do we?

We have some pieces, just not enough.  But who knows with this coaching?

  • I think Lewis may come here for 1.5 Mil. Maybe less. Re-start his career. His offensive mind is what we need.
I wanted him when Doc was fired. We need a Kinne - Tx State type guy.

Texas st recruited outside the box and went and got a head coach from incarnate Word. There are all kinds of offensive minds at lower levels that can flat out coach. But Marshall has to either get the Marshall guy or someone that has zero experience. Go find a proven winner that has an offensive mind and proved it on the field. It will translate at the D1 level.

  • Brian Kelly made his bones at Grand Valley State, then on to Central Michigan (iirc), Cincinnati and Nd, now LSU.

A high achieving D2 coach has been successful.
Hal Mumme, father of the Air Raid, was successful at Val State.

Older fans will remember MU head football coach Stan Parish. He was 42-3-1 at Wabash (Division III) and then spent a year at Purdue before being hired at MU.

  • I spent 10 minutes and have found a MAJOR upgrade over Huff. The head coach from D2 Central Missouri. They are 9-1 and have the number one offense in the country. This guy has had a very explosive offense everywhere he has been and was a stud QB himself.

This is the type of coach we should consider in the future.

  • The head coach at Western Carolina would get my vote...

"I am for a government that is rigorously frugal and simple. Were we directed from Washington when to sow, when to reap, we should soon want bread."
"The democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who are willing to work and give to those who would not."
"I predict future hapiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from wasting the labors of the people under the pretense of taking care of them."-Thomas Jefferson
