On the other end of the spectrum, USA is down 24 early in the 2nd half to NAIA Mobile. Coastal only beat NAIA Piedmont by 2.

Texas State and Louisiana are in close 2nd half games with Little Rock and Youngstown.

GA Southern hung around with GA Tech for a half before getting blown out in the 2nd. GA State dropped a tough one at Belmont by 2.

UL Monroe and Ark State massacred by Houston and Wisconsin.

They looked good. Big 6-8 245 freshman. 2 6-8 kids that are back with experience. And a slew of guard transfers that looked good. And App St is picked to win the conference with all starters back and some transfers. But JMU looked like they had played together for years.

Football team is 9-0 and basketball team just took down #4 team in the nation. By far they are the class of the SB.

I watched a lot of that game. Thing is, it didn't look like an upset. They played them toe to toe and have depth and all the pieces. If they stay injury free and hungry, they are going to be a very good team.

That is how a coach builds a program and generates publicity for his college. You go on the road a beat a nationally ranked team. That victory will help with their seeding in The Big Dance since the SBC is low mid major conference in basketball.

JMU followed up win vs Mich state with a double OT win at Kent St. The rest of their OOC is not great but that should give them a solid RPI if they win the games they should before SBC play. Something to aspire to.

Wh-a-a-a-t, bust, JMU's Head Coach actually recruits freshmen who really have MEAT/MUSCLE on their bones (frame)??  What a NOVEL IDEA!!  Young recruits who don't appear to have been on some sort of STARVATION DIET!!!

They did get a little lucky. They were down 5 with 3.8 seconds left. Threw a full court pass and nailed a three. Then Kent was called for an offensive foul on throw in. JMU made layup to tie it and then won in OT. Still beating a top 5 team and then a team picked second in MAC on road is a pretty impressive start.
