How can Georgia Southern find a QB and we have an offense that can't score?  Cole may not be the answer but at least let him try to answer the question.  Give him first team reps all week and see how he does.

Huffs comments ring hollow.

Not just GSU -  WKU, JMU, and many other schools have found QB's via transfer (before portal) or portal and had great success. Just so disappointed with Huff and staff right now. And we just can't replace the OC/DC, he doesn't know anyone that's any better - sadly. No connections. 2024 isn't gonna be any better. The family and I will be there Saturday night but fully expect to leave early since we'll be down 2-3 TD's by Q3. ugh!

That is 100% correct.  So the AD is going to have to extend Huff for 2 yrs or fire him. That is most likely why firing may be the cheapest option.

Either you pat Huff on the back, write him a check and thank him for his efforts OR you extend him 2 years.

My guess (based on history)  we extend Huff.  He has another atrocious season next year and we end up having to eat 2 years instead of cutting bait when we should have.

I hate to lose the Memorial game but at this point, I have ZERO expectations. I would be thrilled to see at least some offensive improvement.

Maybe consistent O-line blocking? Maybe a consistent run game? Maybe passing toward the middle of the field? Consecutive completions, offensive creativity... find one or two things and improve.

IF the last remaining goal of qualifying for a bowl game is the objective... the opportunities are quickly dwindling.

I'd expect that the extension would be offered such that either party could terminate with a relatively small financial penalty... it'd have to have some language with some performance expectations.

Huff is unlikely to get extended. He will work out his last year or be fired. I'm still leaning toward buyout based on conversations as recent as yesterday. So much i want to share but can't. A final decision has not been made either way yet

When somebody's not doing a good job at you're place of employment, we have the tendency to assign other characteristics to that person that may or may not have any basis in truth. We tend to do that to coaches.

Huff is not stupid, neither is Trickett.
Huff is fairly open & straight forward in his pressers about how he sees the game and his team.

That said, some of Huff's statements & answers strongly imply that he is aware that his team is short of talent.
In the post season meeting(s), Spears & Huff will undoubtably talk about the obvious offensive meltdown and the boring style of play.

Assuming a 6-6 result, I wouldn't be surprised if Huff was offered an extension, but that the extension would be written such that Huff would be likely to turn it down. He will have plenty of other opportunities for employment, just not as a HFC in the near term.

Wasn't there a widespread rumor that Huff turned down an extension before the season started. If so, he knows he's gone after this season and planned on it - regardless if he was hired away or was let go.

I dont care what Huff says , Cole has the respect of his peers. He should play long enough with pre-week snaps to see what he can do. If Harrison isnt getting a sniff then maybe he needs to transfer. This is sad, fancher and his stats need to sit. He is maybe the worst starter in the SBC by far. Huff should be ashamed to be so stubborn.If he leaves now he can resurrect his career elsewhere. If he stays he will be an Asst forever
