  • High school football playoffs start that night and both Cabell County teams are home so the crowd maybe sparse.

Hey 24, please try and give us a good postgame summary sometime with your full assessment of the game, venue, atmosphere, etc.

I've heard that the Gov. and his family are trying this out to see how it goes over.  I understand the "ballroom" location as modified for this game allows only about a crowd of a 1000 or thereabouts.

I know that there is a larger indoor practice facility which has been used in the past by NFL teams for practice, exhibition games or scrimmages, etc.

Just wonder if this game Friday goes over well, or as the Justice family hopes, that maybe shortly in the future we will see OTHER D1 games at the Greenbrier at a different venue, like the indoor football facility.  If that facility could hold a couple thousand or more fans than the ballroom site, I wonder if the Justices perhaps plan on hosting a D1 in season basketball tourney there, which would certainly be comparable, I would think, to some of those offshore tourneys in the islands like the one the HERD will be in next week.

Be interested in your observations, comments, etc.  Thanks in advance.

  • Do any of you experience disruptions when watching ESPN+ replays the next day? I certainly do (I am using Firestick to do so).

Given the Justice family history of failure to keep financial commitments I would hate to see Marshall used as a pawn to develop some larger tournament.  I can see them making promises to schools to come to such a tournament then never making good on those promises.  I think Marshall could end up with a black eye by getting involved with the Justices given their past dealings.

They have already announced that they plan to have a MTE there next year. They wanted to test the waters with this game. They have played numerous HS games there but never a college game.

The ESPN app is buggy, in my experiences, regardless of the device. Buffering and stuttering are common.
    Here's the trouble shooting tree:
Get a speed testing app for your stick, Analiti is a good one. Make sure that the stick's speed shows above 12 Mbps or so.

Force stop the app and clear the cache.

Unplug the power for the Stick for a few minutes and plug it back in.

Unplug your router and modem for a few minutes, along with the stick. When you power them back up, for most systems start with the modem and wait until the upload and download lights show on, then the router wait until the router shows that it's connected to the modem and finally the stick.

Last thing to try...uninstall the ESPN app. Then install it again.

Of all the streaming apps that I've used, ESPN'S is probably the least reliable.

No sweat, wasbarryb.  Obviously, ole Big Jim has already calculated that he can back any future debts, IOUs, etc., with the "full faith and credit" of his expected lucrative U.S. Senator salary!!!!

Same. Any buffering or delays are probably the result of a weak internet connection.

I can assure you that it isn't a weak Internet connection in my case, neither in speed nor in a wifi connection, because my streaming device is connected via Ethernet and is a lot more robust in RAM and ROM than the Firesticks, Roku devices, smart TVS, Fire Cubes , etc.

I hate the ESPN app. But my best luck has come casting it to the Chromecast

  • I never have issues with the app and I live in the middle of no where. Heck 3 years ago my internet speed at home was .83 mgbps through Frontier, the only carrier where I live.   I have Starlink now and don't have to worry, thankful for that.

  • ESPN+ showing they will show the game.  If using the ESPN App, just go to the search function and type in "Marshall" for upcoming games on all sports.  Can't wait until we start SBC beach volleyball!!!
