I swear he comes up with more excuses than anyone. We have only played one home game. Well coach you have only had one away game!!! And 4 neutral. Then we are a new team and young. Well Utah St was more new than us and one by 23. Then of we had Obinna we probably win those games. He is never going to put an emphasis on the regular season. And the bad part of it all is I think he actually believes everything he says.

Obinna would have made a difference in Cayman. But just to make sure we are accurate, he said Calipari told him with him we would have won our games there and he also said he may have been blowing smoke.

Yes but he made sure he put that out there. His whole press conferences is one excuse after another. The new team and young team every year really gets to me. Like no other teams have issues. And then talking about being on the road and only having one home game. It's because 4 have been neutral sites. I think he really thinks those were away games and a disadvantage. I've heard him do the same thing in other years.

A loss would put us at 2-5 with some tough games coming up. A win gets us to 3-4 and closer to .500.

I always want the Herd to win and this is one we must have. We are back home. We have had over a week to prepare for this game and improve as a team. No excuses this weekend. There should be none at this point.

Better get Lil Cryami, cause it looks like our trips to both Ohio U. and Toledo could get real UGLY.  We still have Bluefield, UNC-Greensboro and Wilmington, plus Duquesne all at home, so some opportunities for Ws before conference play opens at end of December with Louisiana.

Greensboro and Wilmington are not bad teams this year

Outlier here again, I liked the presser and didn't find a thing he said that was fluff or over-hyped.  I don't like the condition his team is in with the losses from last year and the lack of experience competitively brought in; but I do see great development in some of his new kids and the realignment of his offense and defense.  He even mentioned going to four bigs............ now that's different.  Good presser, he hid nothing, avoiding nothing and gave credit to KY and his own teams' growth.

 He made a point about being competitive near the end of the game. Well, UK was playing the bench and those guys probably don't practice together very often. I would take the UK coach's compliments with a grain of salt. When you beat somebody that bad you try to say nice things to make the other coach feel good. We are not relevant in college basketball.

I know you all are going to pick apart everything he says, but I didn?t hear anything that was wrong.  He said, we were beat, out executed. He said not having Obinna in the Caymans hurt and it was terrible timing to go to UK because of travel back from the Caymans.  All true. New players are learning their roles and how to play with each other in the system and he thinks they are getting better. The development of Nutter could end up being crucial to the season.

Great development from the new kids? They got their coaching before they came here. And you don't think complaining about only having one home game is strange when they have had four neutral floor games? See, that is what he does. Just like when he always goes on about the other team has 5th year seniors and we played a couple sophomores. Well he had 5th year seniors also but doesn't mention it. I mean if you only had one home game all year and 20 neutral games, how is that a disadvantage? Isn't it neutral for both teams? But I agree with him when he said he wouldn't have scheduled Kentucky if he had it to do over. I say never schedule a big boy again coach. 0-17!!!

UK has jumped up four spots in the current polls to number 12. The bottom line for me that we beat by 36 points and it could have been a worse margin. We don't seem relevant in Division 1 basketball.

Agree. If you make the Big Dance, won't you be playing teams of that caliber en route to the national championship?? Even if you lose, you'd think the experience of facing a big team like that could be beneficial down the line.

In my opinion, Dan was wrong when he said that we were as quick and as athletic as UK.  If that were truly the case, with the lopsided score, then he is majorly indicting himself as Marshall's coach!

True.  However, puzzled when he referenced Radford.  Radford was played on 11/10.  We didn't play in the Cayman's till 11/19.  But overall, it is what it is and MU will always be mentioned in two records UK broke in the game, so exposure ;-)  GO HERD

He said the same thing a few years ago when they went to S Miss and lost by 50. It's always an excuse about something.
