  • If anyone should be complaining it should be Kim not Dan.

  • no excuse getting beat that badly.  "when a team shoots the ball like they (UK) did"

coach, we all suggest you (1) either recruit better, quicker athletes known for D (2) find a way to effectively teach D (3) get better/natural shooters/scorers

This guy has a lifetime job with no expectations earning $800 thousand a year and gets by making lousy excuses. While I had hope new leadership would make the necessary changes I have come to realize some of these folks are just consummate politicians.

  • Might as well watch high school, if we're not relevant nationally or expect to have a chance to win  irregardless of opponent.

  • He made a point about being competitive near the end of the game. Well, UK was playing the bench and those guys probably don't practice together very often. I would take the UK coach's compliments with a grain of salt. When you beat somebody that bad you try to say nice things to make the other coach feel good. We are not relevant in college basketball.

Actually UK wasn?t playing their bench until real late. One kid got three minutes and four others got one minute.  The other three bench players played 26, 24 and 14 minutes.  One scored 16 and one scored 12.

We played better at times late but some of that was the fact that UK got ahead and like teams will do they get sloppy.  UK also don?t press much after early in the first half.

I can?t believe he thinks we are as athletically as them.  That is crazy. UK is very athletically currently. The other thing is UK was missing their 3 seven footers against us.  I thought OAK played really well against UK but it would have been interesting to see how he would have done against their bigs.  I do think we played hard and didn?t give up in the second half. UK was just that much better than us and can shoot the lights out.

  • The excuses and delusion are getting tiring. Obviously, we have no intention of competing at a high level and hope we get hot for 3 days in March. I just don't understand that thinking.

Danny always talks about building the brand and program but all he cares about is the last week.

I mean, what is our "brand" when it comes to Herd basketball and it being year 10 with Danny?

I think it would be laid back,Talk, make excuses, hope for miracle one week run (in a very weak conference) again every 10 years and repeat.

  • Dan was pretty much forced into taking the Kentucky game this year. If it was up to him we?d very rarely play a big name team.

They could have beat us by 60 if they pressed more.

This is UKs best team in a long while. We got them at a bad time for both us being in the dumps and them being at a high spot.

Now you know why Dan can't coach likes to play Bluefield instead of highly ranked teams. He never has to worry about low and high spots.

Honestly, I don't bust on DD much cause we have plenty of that, but I do find it insulting when he says our goal is a national title and then you look at his effort.

That is my point. He talks a big game. But you can't get to that level unless you are doing everything in your power to get there. And he half's it in so many areas. Cruise control and enjoy the ride should be his motto.

  • There's an article in today's paper that says freshman Nutter impressing coaches. He had 9 assists against Kentucky. Maybe he can play the point more cause Curfman isn't a PG.

So? Xavier isn't ranked and not even receiving votes this year. But we can Bragg about our victories over FIU and Queens I guess. There is no level some of you will go to make excuses for Dan.

Is there no level you will go to demean and attack him daily?  He's our coach for the WHOLE season, get used to it.  Try rooting for him and the team like you did before something deeply pissed you off. The players were not really any better, but one year, then. X is in the big east, Oakland in the Horizon beat them at home....period. Oakland is a damn good mid-major program, has been for years.

The big question is why Aymeric and Obinna couldn't qualify to get onto the Cayman Islands.  That, although staff should have hand it under control, isn't very excusable, unless it was political issues with their homelands and the Caymans.

You are not alone. More posters are coming to the conclusion that Dan needs to retire. Some may not be as vocal as you, but they are becoming larger in number.  I have a friend who didn't renew up 6 SIX center courts seats this year. He has been a basketball season ticker holder for years or decades. Losing those seats and the required donation is a sign of fans wanting a change.
