  • Herd ladies averaging 86 PPG. On ESPN+.

Down 14-5 Abby Beewoman with 5 TO in 5 minutes. I kid not... need a new PG.

Down 22-7 won't guard the 3-point line, just like our men's team.

  • 22-15 end of the 1st Qtr.

At the age of 70 I can call them girls.

47-33 Wright State at the half. Totally disorganized on offense, can't guard inside or outside on D. Probably gonna be a long season.

  • 89-78 Wright State 4th straight.

Herd was down by 23 at one time, fought back to within 8 a few times in the 4th.

52% FG% ... seemed like higher ... so tired of both men's and women's teams having to fight to score every possession and the opponents given easy shot after easy shot.

Tough time to be a Herd fan I guess.

  • I'm excited about women's basketball. I think we have a good coach who will get her players in here and get things going. I like how she coaches and handles the press conferences.

  • Obviously with a front-loaded schedule full of road games, no one in the Athletic Department expects overwhelming success this season.  Morehead State next on tap Thursday.

  • against equal or better competition, way too many missed shots, incomplete follow through or forced follow through, especially layups.
like the men, coaches are not hammering home fundamentals or the players aren't practicing smartly.  the vision/mental calculations of the placement/angles of the ball on the backboard in relation to the rim- they lack soft touch too.
another similarity with the men, they are a half step slow stopping dribble penetration from the perimeter.
they make too many bad/forced passes.

the wholesale substitutions are interesting.  they play hard, fight for the ball and press well overall.

  • We can all make excuses, but the real issue is that she doesn't have the talent to play her style at this level yet.  First year, growing painfully (to her more than us, I'd expect).  Only way to learn is to live, sometimes.  We'll see. Keep up the spirit ladies, it's going to take a while, and probably new players that can do what she wants and play like she wants to play.  Anyway, still think sometimes there is payback in this life....too.

Agree. I think she's great and as time moves on they will get better as each recruiting class comes through. I had never been to a game in the past but watching this team play is so much fun that I plan to attend most of the games.

  • It will all come down to recruiting. Her system is great and I think she stands out as a coach. If she can recruit the talent she needs to run her system then I think she will take woman's basketball to heights never seen here.
