  • In practice we make between 44-52% from 3?  😂😂😳😳

The last 4 1/2 games we are 30-118 for a cool 25%!  But we keep launching them.  No wonder we can't beat Radford, UT State and probably Little Miami.  This team is absolutely dreadful.  A Dantoni Special!  Oh and we are 10.5 point home favorites tonight 😂

  • All I heard was how it was the most "speed" Dan has ever assembled. I don't see it at all.

  • How can Spears sit through the whole football season and then these first 7 basketball games and think he's got the right guys leading our 2 major programs?  The product on the floor couldn't win the Mountain East Conference.  I'd take West Liberty and UC over this crew any day of the week.

Maybe the slowest team we have had. Taylor and Kinsey was way more athletic and faster than these guys.

I kept seeing Little Miami players drive to the hoop with impunity and score against our slow, physically weak guards.

They went 13-26 from 3-pt. land 50% !!!! But Danny doesn't concentrate, or even pay attention to what our opponents tendencies are he said. It's all about us. That is what a mediocre HS coach might say and do.

  • The telling thing for D'Antoni is when he says he doesn't watch film on other teams. He just worries about his team.

  • Problem is in practice majority of our shots are uncontested and done at about half speed. Our practices are not exactly ?difficult?.

Doesn't watch film, doesn't recruit well, doesn't dismiss unproductive scholarsip players, doesn't do interviews after losses; want does DD do?

  • Being a D1 head coach is a very hard job. You work countless hours, never see your family, live in front of computers watching game film, film of opponents and potential recruits. Anytime you get an off day you are in a car or on a plane going to check out potential recruits, building relationships with HS coaches, and visiting other college coaches looking for wisdom.  It?s unbelievably hard which is why the pay is so high.

It?s much easier when you just take the money and don?t do all that other stuff. We pay a guy $700k a year to attend games and give him a really good seat to watch.

One of the coaches at a major blue blood program (that i was lucky enough to have a conversation) answered a stupid question i asked him. I asked him what do you look for  in recruiting players besides their talent. He said their toughness and never say die attitude but most important of all their time on getting back on D. He said he timed their effort after getting the defensive rebound and going to their offensive end and he expected their time should be the same when heading to the defensive end. He said in high school unless they had a really good coach the heading to the offensive end was faster but some had some pretty good times going to the defensive end and he knew he could improve that part of their game. That's one of the main things he looked for when picking a starter from his roster. He expected their time to get to one end of the court to the other end should be the same.
That's why he won a NC and is in the HOF. Effort at both ends of the court. Equal effort on both ends of the court.
