  • It will never happen.  He has Michigan, Washington, Texas and Florida State.  My Final Four as well but we all know the CFP Committee will have to place at least one SEC in the playoffs which will probably be Alabama.  He has Liberty in a New Year's Six game while ESPN has SMU in that game.  The selection show at noon should prove interesting!

I actually believe Texas is better than Michigan. I have watched them play a few times this year. What happened yesterday in the Big 12 title game was not a fluke. People will not admit it, but the Big 10 was average at best this year. Ohio State and Michigan were the only two teams that showed anything. Like Georgia, Michigan played a weak OOC schedule. At least Ohio State played at Notre Dame (I'm no OSU fan, just stating things). Now, the Big 12 is not that great either. Texas did beat Alabama in Tuscaloosa. That should account for something.

Based on the committee's own criteria these will be the teams. Who knows what politics are at play? I'm sure TV ratings will play a part.

  • FWIW: I see MU's first game opponent UAlbany beat Richmond 41-13 in the second round of the FCS and advances to the quarterfinals. UAlbany is now 10-3.

  • It's all about which team will put the most butts every 18 inches and the most TV eyes on advertising. Look at the times Ohio State or Notre Dame got in and did not really deserve it. The best four teams for that are Michigan, Texas, Washington and Alabama but it may not end up that way.

Texas barely escaped TCU, Kansas St and Houston and lost to Oklahoma. Michigan would dominate them on both lines.

  • Probably screaming for the 8-team playoff like I believe is planned.
