  • well, quitting would be better for the MU purse, but i'd take fired too

just repeating others, why hire an OC first?

Probably a forced resignation to save some face. I think he planned on coaching next year so he hired an OC but his comments yesterday forced the administration's hand.

Has to do with him completely lying on that quote and making the whole program look like crap before national signing day.

  • What a disastrous hire.  I'll say again.....anyone who served on the committee who picked him should not be asked back.  Especially Carl Lee who was one off Huff's strongest supporters.

  • After three years, not just yesterday's comments, I hope so. But I'll believe it when i see it.

I do think its the only way Huff will not be back next year. MU always hangs on too long.

  • If this is true, and along with the portal players that can't play, we might as well notify the Frisco bowl, we are unable to field a team

  • We all know how these rumor threads go, but I just don't see how he can stay.  No way he can walk these comments back.  I can't imagine Brad Smith allowing him to stay after putting down Marshall.

  • It's Marshall, anything can happen. I wouldn't be shocked if he resigns. Wouldn't be shocked if they let him stay - his issues a formal statement and apology.

After public debacle, humiliation and reprimand, MU signs Huff to 3 year extension.

I get the sense that he's not one to apologize for things he says or does.

  • Unless someone knows something specific, and concrete, this thread accomplishes nothing other than further hurting the program.

  • If it's true he sure is doing a good job of burning everything down on his way out the door.  The way of a narcissist.

Of the choices we had, and remember you can only choose from those who actually apply for the job, who would you have picked?  I honestly don't recall the entire field but I do recall thinking he was the best out of several mediocre options.

The pool was a collection of midgets put together by Hamrick to game the search so he could hire Lambert, a godawful candidate for our job.

So we ended up with the "sexy" midget who ended up as a train wreck.

Hopefully our current AD and President can actually conduct a search and land a good coach unlike the last three football hires ffs

Jerry Gilbert hired Huff. He was not the committees choice.

  • I've been told more than the rumor on Herd Nation. I know that won't be popular with the crowd that wants your source, their number and address. But whatever.

Following the inept candidate "search" and hiring process, it pretty much came down to Huff or a Doc retread (Lambert). People were so sick/tired of Doc that choosing Huff was the best option.
