  • Truly just wondering if he?s ok. I know some, including myself have given him a bit of a hard time when it comes to practice reports. I don?t care about any of that. He?s a great Marshall fan and been a regular on this board for a long time.

Anyone know if he?s ok? I assume he?s just avoiding the boards due to basketball results, but wanted to be sure something hasn?t happened.

HM, if you are reading this, come back to the board brother, we don?t care about the basketball results, who was right/wrong, etc.

Agreed. Unfortunately, it seems pretty harsh on here a lot these days, whether you are pro Dan or anti Dan. Hope he is OK. Love his comments , whether you agree or disagree.

  • He took alot of crap on here for just sharing what he saw.  He loves MU and I think he just had enough of some people's bs.  I don't know him from the man on the moon. But I saw it with my eyes.

  • I don't blame him for leaving, there are some rude disrespectful people on this board for sure.  I don't blame him one bit.  There have been several awesome posters that have been ran off the board over the years.

  • He has been spoken to terribly on this forum. This is definitely not the place to come for productive basketball conversation right now.

How can you have a productive basketball conversation? They are 2-6 and you don't care!!!

  • He was trashed for being a diehard Marshall basketball fan.  He saw the good things and shared those things.  He might have not always been completely accurate.  But he talked about what he saw and thought.  Then he was trashed, again in this thread.  Has nothing to do with the team being good, bad, underperforming, or poor coaching.  He is a fan and always appreciated his thoughts.  Glad he is doing fine.

  • Some people vent their frustrations in the wrong way. Meister was awesome and one of the most insightful members of this board. Idiots ran him off, and I hope nothing but the best for him.

  • Being a diehard fan doesn't change the fact that right now the HERD isn't very good.  No excuse for that fact and I'm sure HM realizes that fact.  Pretty lame, IMO, for a coach in his TENTH season to use "youth", or "lack of experience" as an excuse for the poor performance of his team.  Indicates flaws in his recruiting approach to me, either failures to IDENTIFY and then LAND enough real TALENT or lack or improper use of the Portal in securing some of said talent.

Hopefully nothing more than basketball "blues" over the HERD's current status explaining HM's absence.  Once Danny D. is back in his true "element", like right after we play Bluefield, or is it Bluefield State?, Herdmeister will return!!!!

You don't like facts? You are one of these people  that helps keep us from being good and demanding better. You just rah rah no matter what the record is or how many times a coach fails. The only thing that ever gets Marshall's attention no matter who is in charge is money!!! But truthfully I'm beginning to wonder if Marshall ever gets serious about its two major sports because they sure don't act like it. We have a basketball coach that went 12-21 two years ago and is 2-6 this year. But he got a three year extension by watering the schedule down last year. Now we have a football coach that has slammed the community, fanbase and all but burned down any goodwill and the president and AD are silent. There is zero vision for the 2 main sports and you are just fine with 6-6 and the football meltdown and the 2-6 basketball start after a 12-21 two years ago. Well how sweet of you for hanging on to the life raft with your green jersey on.

  • I am sure I don't know him as well as some on the board, but I do know him and I know that he loves basketball, and loves Marshall Basketball. At one time about a decade or less ago, he was also as supportive of MU football, traveled extensively to the games. We've spent time at away games and at home as well.

He supports the team in ways most of us can't and cares about the young men personally. We could use a thousand more like him, considering that he didn't even attend Marshall.  I don't always agree with him, but he is a good, honest, hard working supporter of the Herd and Herd basketball in particular.  I do believe there have been times when he has had DD's ear, and also times when he has carried DD's messages. I'm good with both of those things.

Hopefully he'll be back, I'll see him occasionally if he doesn't, but think he has had great things to add to these boards over time.

Great post.  Everyone wants inside information.  Then they shoot the messenger when they don't like the information or if the information doesn't fit their agenda. Need more people like Meister.
