  • Crawford would have played more but was in foul trouble. He helps our offense.

  • I was told Crawford is possibly our best player but can't get out of the dog house. Not sure why he's in the dog house but based on the last two games it seems he's getting let out.

  • And Danny allows Obinna to shoot a 3 to win it. He lucks out and banks it in. How many coaches in America would allow that?

    You seem upset.

    Good. Better them than us.

I can't believe they chased off those screens and let us get the three pointers.

Herd fans needed this win after all the stuff this week since last Saturday.

Not upset just pointing out what a horrible coach Danny is. Game on the line and instead of drawing up something, Danny lets 17% Obinna shoot a 3. Lucky it clanked and banked in. What a great coaching move. 3-6!!!

    I'll take the win.

If Marshall shoots free throws at an acceptable rate, then luck wouldn't have been needed.

He clearly indicated in the post game interview that he didn?t draw the play up. But of course that doesn?t fit your narrative.

I understand what you're saying sorta but how often does the "right" move not work because of poor execution?  Or just missing the shot?

Cotton said in the pre-game that he didn't travel with the team. Cotton said no reason was given. That is the best I can tell you.

Well shouldn't a coach try? If it had of missed instead of banked in, you all would be screaming like you do when he doesn't use time outs. But I'm glad you guys are back on the Dantoni train after 1 win. Go Herd!!!

I get so tired of reading your posts because you are 1) so negative and 2) your negativity makes some of your posts ignorant.
That last set where Obinna hit the 3 was not a drawn up set play for Obinna. He trusted the guys to play out of the pick and roll and the normal Flo offense. A shot was made. Therefore it seems it actually was a great coaching decision and should be commended. Sure there are a lot of problems with the program and about 2/3rds of them you?re pretty spot on. But your negativity and hatefulness makes you sound extremely ignorant on the things you aren?t right about

  • On the ESPN+ on-court post-game interview with Obinna and Danny  ( funny stuff ) :

Obinna : "I called that bank shot."

Danny: "I coached that ball in [ into the basket ]. That was good coaching."

Great sense of humor on those. Always great to be a Marshall fan. Especially when we win. Absolutely sub-par coach & absolutely great guy.

Very professional and equitable OU Broadcast team. Gave MU tons of props ( considering 2-6 coming in ) and showed they were extremely knowledgeable about our schedule to this point. Just MHO but I don't think Bowles "coached hard" or that many of the OU players played particularly smart or hard. Again, no big conspiracy theory but just seemed a bit odd to me.

EDIT: Oh, and I thought it was a positive that Danny called a timeout when we were down "only" 9-2 and (2) Danny called for a foul at the end to set up a 1+1 ( and they missed, perhaps on purpose ) when we were up by 3. Problem with the "improvements" is that I fear Danny might still revert to his old ways at any time.

I was pleasantly surprised at the poise and confidence of Cam Crawford vs. Duquesne ( after "disappearing" vs UK ), and tonite he was 4/6, 3/4 from deep for 12 points in only 18 minutes of action! Now if we could get Fricks or McKey really rolling we might really have something for SBC play.

You're so bitter man. Take a break for a few days. We won at Ohio. We've had far better teams play up there and not fare so well.

Today was a positive step and we'll see what happens next time out.

  • Toledo is 5-4 after today. Yes that is a tough place to go, but this isn't mission impossible to get a road win against a 5-4 team.

I would love for us to win up there Wednesday night and then come home for two key games against UNC Greensboro and UNC Wilmington (yeah I know Bluefield is in between but I don't count that). A win on Wednesday and we are back in business.

I am glad for the win, but good to hear Voyles say postgame that this team still needs a lot of work and ways to get better. I think Dan is starting to see some of the pieces that are going to give us the best chance to win. I agree we lost a lot of production. It does take some time. I would have to think all of us feel a heck of a lot better right now about this team than this time last week. I have criticisms of how the program is being run, but right now I have to hope for the best for the remainder of this season. I still think we can be somewhat successful this season.

I am looking forward to being in the Henderson Center next Saturday night. I hope we come in 5-6 that night with a chance to even the record up.

    I'm always concerned about the in-game officiating vs. Toledo ... y'all know "worry-wart" / "Commies-under-every-bed" p2m.
Tonight's win was definitely a confidence builder, but -as always- we gave up a lot of easy baskets ( 16 turnovers !! ). Not sure the refs will let the teams play physical like tonight. If it becomes ticky-tack we are toast.

You don't think he should have drawn a play up in that situation with the game in the line? That's my point!!! In. Crucial situations he just lets them play street ball. How many times you think that %^&* goes in by Obinna? 17%!!!! You think any of the really good coaches allow that? Now maybe some of you will know why we are 3-6. And I never said he drew it up but just the opposite. He didn't draw up anything but stood there with arms crossed and allowed the worst shot we could have took by a horrible shooter. Yes we got lucky but that was a horrible coaching decision 9 times out of ten to not call timeout and set up a better play.
