And our offense scored 41 on them.  The only other team to eclipse that was Notre Dame at 45.  And they played Clemson, Duke, UNC, Miami and Louisville.  What the hell happened to the Herd Offense after that game?  We only scored 45 the next 4 games 😂😂😂

SBC East was as good as much of the ACC.  JMU over Virginia, App barely falls to ranked UNC, We lose by TD to ranked NCState and beat bowl eligible VT.  ODU lost to VT, but split from last year.  We were on their butts in the composite rankings all season as a division.

14 vs 14 on neutral fields with neutral refs I bet we win 6-7 of those games.

Point is, it wasn't like some horrible conference we lost in.  Not like 2016.  All the east teams had good OOC and then beat each other up.  We also had something else going on which we'll probably never find out the whole story.

Thats because we had injuries.At the QB position, and during JMU we had 7 starters out.

We had a complicated season. We had a 4-0 start, beat VT (something that Pruett, Snyder and Doc couldn't do), played NC State tough. We simply did not have the horses to compete with JMU with the injuries, but played with heart. I still think the turning point in the season was the roughing the kicker vs. Ga. State. It is worth noting that I thought the team played with character needing to win two out of the last three games against bowl-eligible opponents.

Think if our OL didn?t give up 5 sacks in that game.  OL play hurt us more than anything else this year.

My thoughts are very similar to yours.  I think the 4-0 start and signature VT win / with a sell out crowd, gave us sky high expectations and that fuels much of the negativity. 

Without a doubt we lost complete control of the o line and it only got worse.  So Bill Legg needed fired in the worst way and honestly we need a restraining orders keeping him off campus. 

I know what Legg did with Cato and Drew Brees, but he hasn't helped us in 10 years and all that he is in charge of has been horrible and detrimental to the program.  So he should go to another WV school and mail it in to get his retirement years.
